Who were your favorite G.I. Joe/COBRA characters?? [Archive]

First off, I'll give full credit to GlassJoe and reefdweller for their Transformers/Cobra Commander threads, for this idea. I found myself wandering the vast plains of the internet searching for pictures of my favorite COBRA character, when I stumbled upon this site.<a href="http://smalljoes.com/funskool_gijoe_figures.shtml">http://smalljoes.com/funskool_gijoe_figures.shtml</a>I got a kick out of it, and I can say, I don't remember a lot of these characters."Windmill"????That has got to be the lamest G.I. Joe ever.  Anyway, My favs would have to be........Snake Eyes(I know, the obvious choice), but the old school uzi carrying one<img src="http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c217/luxa1/snakeeyes-sw.jpg" border="0" /> And I would have to go with Zartan(although it's really hard to choose)<img src="http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c217/luxa1/zartan.jpg" border="0" />

That Snake Eyes was a redo of the original.The first series or so didnt have the swivel arm battle gripI dont know but I kinda liked the HALO guy.Not sure what his name was.

It really is a close one here.  Like any other child geek in the 1980's, I loved the idea of ninjas.  So my favorite characters were Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes.  I think Storm Shadow gets a little edge based on the fact that he was sort of a hero who was with Cobra to hunt down the killer of his sensei.  However, in terms of appearance, got to go with Snake Eyes:<img src="http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f373/EliSnow/snakeeyes.jpg" border="0" />I prefer the visor Snake Eyes to the goggles one.

Mine was for Leatherneck. He was another favorite. He was like another favorite, but not as much ... not as much favorite.

My GI Joes were all from the 60's, including an entire set of WWII fighters,(I loved the Nazi and Jap but hated the French), the GI Joe Space Capsule, complete with a 45 single that played Alan Shepherd's Mercury mission, the GI Joe Frogman and a great wooden footlocker that was available. Those were back before the "kung fu grip" nonsense, and the figures were at least twelve inches tall.

I liked Low-Light, as he had a very cool gun.I also liked Lifeline, because he had a briefcase. Was it just me, or was the cobra bubble-pods one of the coolest vehicles?  I also liked the one-man sub. Favorites, no particular order: Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow, Duke, Stalker, Destro, Snow Job (skis), Wet-Suit (flippers)... I think I based my Joe coolness on accessories.

Indeed There was a Bionic 12 inch Joe. (Not the Bionic man). I had the Frogman in the early 70's and  still have the wooden footlocker. It is still in my closet in Pa I  believe.

I think COBRA always had the better vehicles.They had that cool fighter plane, I think maye it was the rattler, that was modeled after the A-10 I think.Had a Gatlin-kinda gun on the nose, a tail-gunner spot, and like 14 missles/bombs.

Completely forgot about the Rattler. YOU! As I said earlier..there were 2 "special GI Joes" one was bionic
with a see through telescopic eye and hand that held helicopter rotors
and the other was a human "Bullet" that slid down a wire.I had
all of the joes at that time and my favorite vehicle was the
submarine....about 1 foot long and you could take your joes to the

comic book hero (see image below) that they were working to
reinvent/update at the time. I had him when I was a kid and spent hours
