do you crush a lot on other people? how often? do you tell the other person about the crush or do you just keep it a secret?
i crush a lot on other people. i seem to get infatuated pretty easily.
i don't know why, but i fall in love with people's voices a lot. that tends to grow into a crush and then that's all i might think about for a whole day or two.
crushes make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

I get crushes all the time.
They come and go pretty quick,
but boy are they fun! I love
lusting after people.
What about non-sexual crushes?
Over the summer I had a huge,
non-sexual crush onthe
instructor of the course I
took. He was small and
adorable and cooked and
knitted and FUNNY AS HELL. I
wanted to take him and prop
him up in my bed and just have
him talk to me all day. He was
soooo adorable and I just
wanted to pinch his cheeks
every time I saw him. But I
had no desire to have sex with
him.

a crush to me is the overwhelming feeling of LUV for someone you barely even know.
you think everything about them is perfect.
your stomach hurts when you see them smile.
you wonder if they think about you too...
i dont think it is just being obsessed.

The whole voice infatuation is so true. The voice can overwhelm a person's feelings for one another. Like you think about that person all the time. You would drop anything at the moment to talk to this person. You shower this person with gifts. It's a sensation of love that is exciting and new. Infatuation rules.

Crushes, infatuation and the like are great. Just recognize that crushes don't last. No person is perfect.

<i>"What qualifies as a crush?

most curshes involve a certain level of fantasy. most people crush on people they don't know very well, so the crush is based on what you think that person is like.
i've always had a crush on rivers cuomo because i think he's perfect and his voice makes me melt.
i asked him to marry me once, but he just shrugged.

I totally get crushed all the time. I hate it. I have never had a crush that I was happy to have. Usually because they are with girls that are unavailable or ones I have missed my shot with already.

No person is perfect
Horde King, I've been trying to explain that to a friend of mine for a while now and he just doesnt belive me. He thinks his mate should be absolutly perfect and there should never be any problems ever. No fighting, just constant agreement on everything. This is very unlikely, right? and unhealthy. PLease explain.

i had a couple of crushes in high school that i never acted upon at all for numerous reasons I won't get into here. nor did I tell anyone of these crushes. needless to say i wasn't the more socially active teenager. I don't think I've formed a college crush yet.
However if there is a girl I have a crush on and if I gained confidence and thought I had a chance I would/could honestly wait months waiting for the perfect moment to strike.

Crushes rule! Hell, I'm
*married* and I still have
crushes. There's nothing more
amazing than discovering that
certain "Je ne sais quois"
about another human being.
Of course I don't ACT on them,
but still, there's nothing
more refreshingly awesome!

DREAMWEAVER - For some people it's hard to accept that there is no single person who will agree with them on every issue. If this is a definition of a "perfect spouse," expect to be single for life.
All couples fight to some extent. All couples have differences of opinions. This is because people are not simply carbon copies but every person is a unique individual with their own thought, knowledge, interests, expertise, dreams and tastes.
Every individual is unique. Love does not mean loving everything about someone. It does not mean that the person is your emotional and mental clone. Love invloves understanding the differences between the two individuals and finding the you are drawn to the entire gestaltic package. Love is learning to live with the differences, and actually growing because of them. Love is respecting the other person's individuality.
The lack of carbon copies is a very good thing. If an exact emotional and mental duplicate were to somehow to materialize, he/she wouldn't be a spouse he/she would be a robot, or a Stepford Wife (or husband.)
Think of how boring relationships would be if couples agreed on everything. There would be no interpersonal growth or comprimise. No discussion of ideas and ideals. No growth of mutual and individual interests. No development of trust. No concept of agreeing to disagree.
DREAMWEAVER, no doubt there are other things going on with your friend, besides insisting on a duplicate of himself. Usually, this is the symptom of something, not the cause.

Dreamweaver,
I dated a guy who was a lot like your friend. He insisted that there was one perfect mate for him and this woman would *never* fail him. Ever. I was so miserable with him. I constantly felt like I was walking on eggshells around him.
Having such rigid expections for another person is just unhealthy.

Crushes are ok as long as they don't turn into obsessions. That into which you can no longer control your emotions and you might do something you would soon regret.
