Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I was just watching Mind Freak (Criss Angel).

How in the hell does he levitate from one building to another 2 stories high. It looked absolutely amazing. There were dozens of people around and underneath him.

I went with Jesus. Walking on water, turning water into wine, feeding the masses, raising Lazarus from the dead, curing lepers...the dude would have RULED in Vegas.

I still like Criss Angel and his new season's been a lot better as he's doing more real close up magic as opposed to the stupid over the top tricks.
I have been able to notice a lot more of his slight of hand though.
I really like Derren Brown.
He does a lot of slight of hand and mentalism stuff.
I don't necessarily believe a lot of the hypnossi stuff but it's still cool.

Hi, I'm going to New York in September with school and there's a little competition on the first night of performing your own magic/party trick, and the prize is something relating to New York. I was wondering if anyone had any stunning magic/party trick ideas or even links to show me examples! It doesn't have to be original, although I would like it to be, but the more amazing. Any brilliant trick ideas will appreciate.

I'm not half bad with a few tricks if I don't say so myself:
Seperation of the thumb illusion
a card trick
pull a quarter out of a 4year old's ear
I'm hell on wheels and missed my vaudville calling.

just start collecting the 2 of hearts. the more the better. then hide them in as many different places on you or around the room as possible. have people pick a card and show it around the room. reach for a 'planted' card and act like it should be correct...'is THIS your card?!!!?!' most likely youll always be wrong but it gets really funny for the crowd. try to hide at least 20 cards.

this one is great with kids but you can pull it off anywhere.
grab a kid assistant. grab his parent or any adult.
form a big paper funnel out of a newspaper.
use scissors to cut out the bottom of the funnel.
look out at the crowd through the hole.
then, wave your hand over the funnel top, putting magic into it.
have the assistant do the same.
sit the adult on the floor.
request a pitcher of water.
hold the filter over the adults head.
the assistant pours water in.
you have already told the crowd and adult that magic will keep them dry.
the adult gets wet, everyone laughs.

Hahaha, I just noticed how many times a name had to be added when someone complained.
Also, I think that's why he wrote OTHER in all caps. To emphasis his weariness.
