I hope no one is surprised at this.  Dice came on O&A bashing everyone he'd done before them, this is his MO.Kinda gay how O&A completely jumpstarted Dice's fucking stalled career and now they're bumbs, but whatever.O&A did great radio with Dice but he's not needed on the show for it to be good.  I'd love to see them make up and have them make Dice funny on the show again but if it doesn't happy I'll still be more than satisfied with the O&A show and contine to pay for it and ROn and Fez for many years to come.

One time on the show my ass.  I remember him calling, talking about his problems, trying his new material.  I remember the time they were prank calling each other.  I honestly thought they were friends, and now he's pretending he doesn't even remember their names. For a while, I kind of felt bad for Dice, now I hate him again. He reminds me of Vanilla Ice, when everytime he 'reinvents' himself he bitches about how his old stuff wasn't what he really wanted to do, and now he's true to himself.  . . ugh, he's awful.

I always got the impression him and opie were friends and would hang out even outside of the studio. I know Dice had gone to Opie Apartment, and I think Opie went to Dice's place.  Dice was on the show WAY to much to turn around now and say he did not want to do it.

'lo those many years ago I saw Dice at the Beacon. It was an O&A event and the place was packed. Norton opened and it was the first time people had seem he... he killed. Dice was doing his bit and people kept screaming for his old poems...chicks were flashing their tits and Dice was getting pissed. At some point he stopped the midget jokes and did the "hickory dikory doc...shit"I kind of felt bad for him. He was up there in balloon pants, platform black sneakers and a bedazzled leather vest...cafeteria lady arms a flappin...it seemed as if time had passed him by

Yeah, I saw them at the Garden as well. O&A did a lesbian couch bit, Norton was hilarious and Dice was Dice. He did some kind of "Joey BigHead" bit poiting to a guy in the third row. Some nursery rhymes, and a BoogaLoogaLoo - I'm over here now! back and forth bit with the crowd. Some dude in the second row kept yelling "This ain't 1986, Dice!" That was pretty funny.

There is no show with out Opie, he does a lot for the show. While anthony is the funnier talent (i am sure opie would agree), Opie is the radio mind, as well as the driving force of the show. His silent contribution does go unnoticed. Lets not turn this thread into an O vs. A thread, lets keep it to Dice vs. O&A

Dice and Howard are in the same boat, both were the biggest ever in their respective fields, and both are on the way out (or in dice's case, out already and trying to come back in).  I am not sure with the way radio is today if we will ever see someone as big as stern again. And the closest anyone has come to Dice since him is maybe Dane Cook (i am talking about selling satdiums and CD's, not someone like Seinfeld who does smaller clubs and then has a hit TV show).

I heard part of Opie talking about what Dice said today and I have to applaud him.  He didn't name call back or scream, he just talked about the personal relationship he thought he had forged with Dice and that he had no idea what drove Dice to do this except jumpstarting his career.You could hear the disappointment in his voice.  Not that Dice was giving Howard heat but that Dice was just another fake Hollywood user.

ZZzzz.My lord, this segment is borrrring!  I can't believe this (imaginary!) feud is still going on.  I listened to it only because it was mentioned HERE and, wow, I just don't think it's "compelling and provacative" Howie.And I can't believe that Dice is STILL playing that character from back in the day.  Christ, even BOBCAT had the good sense to give up his schtick.  Howie Mandell also dropped the act.  Dice....still keepin' it goin'. And for OnA & Stern to still be fighting is nothing short of retarded.  It's not worth listening to either of them talk about the other, much less PAY for it.This whole battle is so lame, I don't even think we could build a comedy pyramid about it.

The interesting thing about the interview is that Dice
plugged nothing, not even an appearance and was funny without doing the
DICE character. I think he sincerely wanted to mend the fences. He also
confirmed what many have said for years, Opie is a zero and completely

For what it's worth:Howard heard that Dice was in a feud with Jay Mohr as well. Dice said that he was on the ''Asshole and Anthony'' show one time... Dice stopped himself and said that he used to have to do that show when he wasn't doing Howard's show. He then went off on this guy Anthony for a short time and said that he has a problem with that guy. Dice got back to the story about Jay Mohr. He said he went to the Comedy Store and they were having a party for The Comedy Awards at the club and this guy George Slaughter showed up. He was angry about that guy and the way he had been treated by him in the past. Dice said that his son inspired him to do Madison Square Garden again that day so he was going to put a plan together to put out a new album and work his way to doing the Garden again in a year. Then he heard Anthony going on and on about him on their show. He didn't really care that much but he had to do their show because he wasn't doing Howard's show at the time. They used to thank him for helping them build their show by coming on. He said that those guys used to go off on Howard all the time and no matter what they said, Howard is going to be the biggest guy in radio no matter what. Dice said he started doing their show and New York started to get hot on him again so he was able to sell out the Beacon Theater and then had the chance to do the Garden again. He said that it was incredible that he was able to do that for his son. Dice said that he did the Opie and Anthony show the day before the Garden show and Anthony was doing an impression of him. Dice said that Mancow eventually became his friend over the years. He said he knows that Howard has a thing with him... Howard said he doesn't have a thing, he just wants to fuck his father's dead skull. Dice said that's what he doesn't like when he does stuff like that and asked Howard to do that when he's not there. Dice said that Opie told him that Mancow was coming into the city to introduce him at his show so Opie and Anthony weren't going to do the show. Dice said that's when his kid started to get uncomfortable. He asked him if everything was okay. That eventually led to Dice talking about how this guy Jay Mohr told him he wasn't afraid of him on the air but Dice told him that if he didn't show up to his show, and he had to come looking for him, there might be a fight. He said that he eventually got a call from a detective who said that he got a visit from Jay Mohr and his wife who were complaining about what was going on. He said that Jay went back on the air with Opie and Anthony bad mouthing him so he had to explain to the cops that it was a ''radio fight.'' He tried to get Jay to drop the whole thing. Dice said that he confronted Jay at an event and was talking to him about the fight to his face but he knew he didn't have to fight him because the guy was so yellow. Dice said that there are a lot of people out there who don't know what a real punch is like so they're more afraid of it than they would be normally. Dice was also going off on Opie and Anthony more as well. He said that he thinks that he thinks that the only people who are listening to their show are their families. He said that they made his kid really uncomfortable when he was at their show. Then he heard that they were going off on him one day so he showed up to the show and he laid into the guy about their threats of not showing up at The Garden. Dice said that they aren't selling out anything so if they show up it's not going to help him out. He said he just wanted to see what those guys had verbally on the air but they had nothing. Dice was telling some jokes and cursing and said that he really loves the freedom they have at SIRIUS. He started to get into a whole comedy routine that had Artie and Howard laughing their asses off. OK, I don't listen to O&A, but as far as I can tell, Dice went on Stern's show and talked shit about them, right?  Well, here's my crazy suggestion...IGNORE HIM.Radical, I know...but why do they HAVE to respond to people talking about them?  I honestly think they bank a good chunk of their show planning each year to assuming some other show or "personality," probably Howard or some guest of his, will call them out and then they HAVE to respond.  Who gives a fuck?  It's really kinda sad they've shoehorned themselves into a corner in terms of this kind of petty bullshit.  And I'm not saying in any kind of "they do a good or bad show" criticism...I sympathize that they're stuck doing almost nothing but "attack/respond" radio with guys like Andrew Dice Clay.Read that last sentence again.Let it sink in.Andrew Dice Clay.20 years ago or so, this would be HUGE.  Now, it's just pathetic, for anyone who willingly gets involved.Now again, I have no idea of O&A did respond, or if they're even on live this week, but I'm assuming that they're all too happy to dive right in, based on their past history.  If I'm wrong and they pretty much ingored him, hey, awesome.  Try doing the same with Howard.  If you guys are so much better or beyond him and his style of radio, STOP TALKING ABOUT HIM.

It was almost embarassing. Someone made a good point, O&A's listeners already pay for their service, so they've already won over their listeners. by talking about him, you're not going to get new listeners, you're just preaching to the choir at this point. I was like everyone else the first time i heard them, "stern ripoffs". but after listening there was no denying which was the better show. yet the still feel the need to talk about him for a good 10 min to an hour each day.

I listened to the whole thing and was entertained. Is George Takei no longer part of his show? Are the shows always 5 hours long? I guess that kinda makes up for those 4 day weeks he's going to do (I think he was on the next day, so I'm not sure if he started that yet)It was cool for Artie to say Norton was a good comic.

In defense of O&A, Dice was a friend, or least they thought he was. This was a guy that they hung out with. They went to each others houses. They have met each others family. Dice claims to have been so upset over Opie's dad passed away that he couldnt talk to him. Talked to about thier careers and vice versa. They claim to have no idea why he turned on them. Dice brought Norton into the show. THey were friends. He was part of the show. That is why they feel like they have to talk about it.

A guy like Dice, needs to be hated by people. He feeds off of that anger and uses it in his act. He also is trying so hard to be relavant again that he is willing to kiss Howards ass. He knows that going on the Stern's show & bashing O&A will get people talking about him again. Well we are, but not for stand up act, which I have said recently was really good. Now we are talking about him for being an ass.

I understand the whole "Ignore them and they'll go away, talk about them and you just make them mroe visible." thing completely, but I still think it's funny with Stern.They have A LOT to be pissed at him about, and they're always showcasing some of his lies and bullshit when they have Howie Talk, so I love it.But yes, the Dice thing is pretty much over I hope.  He dissed O&A awhile ago anyway, this is nothing new.  He said something to effect of he was driving through the desert near Las Vegas and he saw O&A selling hot dogs or some stupid shit, trying to say they're not reaching any fans these days.  So this is nothing new, he just took his O&A crap to their #1 enemy.Fuck Dice.  They've been doing a great show without him and will continue to.

I think a big reason for that was he came out the same time as Sam Kinison, who I absolutely loved. Both deserve credit (or blame) for helping make "cringe humor" popular, but I always had a feeling that one of these guys was the real deal, and the other was a poseur (much the same way I dismissed Pearl Jam when they first came out). When Dice went on the Arsenio Hall show and cried, I finally felt vindicated.To be honest, I thought his recent Stern appearance was the funniest thing I've maybe ever heard him - part because I enjoyed some of his lines, part because (no matter what the circumstance is) I enjoy a good "burning the bridge" when celebs hurt each other's feelings, and part because it was funny to see him groveling to be Howard's friend again, much like Dee Snyder did a couple of months ago.
