Just out of curiosity, how many women on this board have a strong desire to get married and have children?
What age do you want to get married?
Is marriage important to you?
I'm not judging anyone. It's just that I think that our culture has changed dramatically in the past few years. I see less and less women concerned about marriage and children

Well, marriage is a personal decision. It shouldn't really matter if women are concerned with it or not.
But, personally, not being a woman buy a guy who takes it upon himself to answer questions not answered of him, I'm not really sure where I stand on marriage. As an act of commitment, I understand its beauty...but the shit that surrounds it, other than the religious aspects, is enough to turn me off.
It seems that, as a general rule, people change after they get married. Be it more "comfortable" or just plain settling, there seems to be some lack of effort. Maybe it's just my perception, but I'd much rather live with the chance that it could end at any second, to live for the day and try my hardest to make my partner as happy as she can be. I don't want to turn into a Flowers Only on Holidays, Birthdays, and Anniversaries guy.
But maybe I'll just get bitter with age, lol.

Censored, Because I'm a Responsible Moderator, who fucks children in the ass.
I know we have a lot of forward thinking women on this board, but as far as this topic is concerned I'm pretty old fashioned.
I'd get married tomorrow if the right person asked me, I've done the whole independant thing, I've dated more than my fair share of people and at this point I'd really like to settle down. I said settle down, not settle, mind you.
As far as kids go as a general rule little kids dont'really like me, and I dont really know how to act around little kids between the ages of birth and 7-ish, but I'd like to give it a try. I feel like Im a pretty caring person and I could easily devote that to kids.
Though it may seem archaic,I'd love to be a stay at home mom. Coming from a single parent home my one parent that was around was often busy with work or shopping or taking care of my little brother, which I dont begrudge her for, I just wish I had one of those PTA moms who alwasy brought in cupcakes for your class on your bday.

I definitely want to get
married and have kids, and
soon. I think I've pretty much
'proven', if it's something
that needs to be proven, that
I can be independednt and have
my own life and find happiness
wih myself and all that.
I wnat to have kids, but I
don't want to be a single mom.
I also want to have kids soon,
because I don't want to be too
old to do stuff with them
unless it's golf or fishing
off of a dock or taking them
to a sporting event. I'm big
into active things, and I want
to make sure that my kids have
the opportunity to try as
manythings as I did.
I think that ultimately I want
to be a stay-at-home mom. I go
crazy when I don't have a
million things to keep me
occupied, but that's what a
child is, right? I'm very big
on the whole nesting thing.
I already know that I'm going
to be the most horrendously
overprotective mom when it
comes to some things... like
playgrounds. Oh my god how
they frighten me! I can't go
to them ebcause I'm always
convinced that the kids are
going to crack their heads
open.
But on the other hand I think
I'd take my young child rock
climbing with vey little
hesitation, becaus eI have
control over the danger.
Ah, that's right. control. I
guess i'm a control feak or
sometihng.

a couple of years ago, the idea of getting married and having kids scared the hell out of me, especially since it was close to happening for me.
i think now i have a clearer head on things and have grown up a little. I'd like to get married when the time is right. as far as having kids, i really have no desire to get pregnant at this time, but i'm sure i'll have a change of heart in the future

marriage doesn't interest me.
to me, marriage seems like it is used to finally certify your love for another person.
i do believe that one can maintain a family and be as happy (or totally miserable), as any married couple out there, without officially getting married.
i also believe in loving someone so much that you want to spend your whole life with that person, but i don't think i should have to go through all the legal and traditional stuff to make our love or "union" recognized by others in society.
