http://www.quiznos.com/

Anyone else catch this commercial? Ordinarily, I'm not a fast food guy, but I loves me some prime rib. Everytime this thing comes on t.v. I find my mouth watering. However, it's been my experience (and I hope that I'm not shocking anyone here) that sometimes they make things look better on a commercial than they are in real life.

The thing is, I don't have any Quiznos place near where I am. So, I would have to make a conscious effort to go out for the sole purporse of finding a Quiznos to have one of these bad boys, which might very well wind up disappointing me. I'm just not prepared to make that kind of commitment for a sam'ich. Anyone out there try one of these things?

I think if you wait a week or two there will be one near you. They've built like 10 near where I work in the past year.

I get the same way with Sonic. Directv plays sonic commericals constantly and every time I see one I want to hop in the car and drive the 5 hours to the closest one in Roanoke, VA.

From time to time since I've been walking around this planet, I've had the urge to stick my dick in some strange places, a sandwhich has never been one of them. It's still not, but I've definitely moved one step closer.

My Quiznos is on the border of Union City and Jersey City, so there primary audience is a "certain element" which affects the baseline readings of what a sandwhich should or shouldn't be. So, keeping that in mind, they went a little light on the cheese, little heavy on peppercorn sauce. They try to re-create the delicious outer crust of a nice prime rib, and they come damn close, but because they're a little heavy handed with the peppercorn sauce it slightly overpowers the flavor of the meat. It comes with some kind of grilled onions on it, but I had them throw soem more on after it went though the toaster. A good move as it turns out, since the first layer of onions were a little flavorless. I didn't put any other fixins on it, because I wanted an accurate flavor test of the sandwhich itself. Plus, and this is just a personal thing, there's something weird to me about putting lettuce and tomato on a warm sandwhich ... seems unnatural. However, perhaps a couple of hot peppers would aid if that's your thing.

Overall I would say a 7 to a 7.5 out of 10. If, you can get a hold of your sandwhich maker and maybe tell them to lighten up on the sauce and make nice with the cheese, this could get up to an 8 or an 8.5. 9 would be pushing it.

Thanks for the review. Looks like it will definitely be time for a Quiznos road trip for me very soon. Very Harold and Kumarish.

The thing is, I don't have any Quiznos place near where I am.

If
my memory is correct, shoot up US 1 North and there is one in Edison
past the Shop Rite. Although I went there about a year ago and the
sandwich i got was not to my liking. A little light on the toasting and
the bread was cut a bit thin on the bottom so everything fell out.
Still edible I just was irritated everything kept falling out.

In
addition to the Prime Rib sub they got going, that Triple Q they had a
few months ago was just darling. Especially with the addition of the
Honey Bourbon Mustard.

They have one further down in Middlesex County in North Brunswick on Route 1 South in the Pathmark Shopping Center ((with Mandees, and Pier One)). Haven't gotten over there yet, but I know this particular location is fairly new.
I love Quiznos. I could have a Sierra Roasted Turkey or an Italian anytime.
I've never even walked into a Quiznos but I definitely plan to check it out. I'm a Panera man myself. Anyone ever try Panera? How does Quiznos compare?

I'm totally addicted to Panera... I'll have to scope out Quiznos soon to make a fair assessment

I finally broke down and got one of these yesterday. BLEEEEECH!!! For some reason I was expecting nice grilled, carmelized onions (it looks like that in the picture) but the onions were raw. To be fair, I forgot all about blakjeezis' advice and I did not tell the guy to go easy on the sauce. The thing was swimming in, and dripping this vile liquid everywhere. They do give you a pretty decent amount of meat so if I were desperate sometime I guess I might get a plain one with just the meat. But for now, it's back to Panera for me - perfect everytime.

My first Quiznos experience was not a positive one. Quiznos, Mmmmmmm.....Shitty.
