View Full Version : Movies or Shows That Make You Want To Drink

I don't mean in the sense that they're so bad you want to drink. But rather, are there some movies that if you see someone drinking something that you crave it as well? For instance when I watch "Lost In Translation" or See the cigarette smoking man on the X-Files I get the urge to drink whisky. I'll watch the guy from the X Files with his glass of whisky and I'll get a major craving for it. The same is true for "Lost In Translation". Some movies if they're drinking red wine I'll get a mad craving for it as well. The Sopranos does that a lot as well. Granted I haven't had a drink in long time, but I'll see a scene and get an odd craving for it.

I'm not a big drinker so I don't get many cravings. I have had what you're talking about happen once, though. I hesitate to even mention it since its probably so cliche' by now. Probably everyone who's ever seen it has felt the same way:

The Godfather- When the boys were eating Chinese food out of the boxes, and they were drinking those 6 1/2 ounce bottles of coke. Man I wanted one of those old school cokes.

Drinking scenes do that to me, too. Also, JD Salinger books always make me want to sit on a window seat and drink a highball. And E!True Hollywood Story usually has me wanting to do rails.

Off the bat, I'd have to go Old School- "Its so good when it touches your lips"

As for a show, I always thought it was awesome when Elaine would drink when no one else wouldn't on Seinfeld- there were a couple episodes where she had the remainders of a 6 pack slung over her shoulder, or would come into Jerrys and grab a beer from the fridge, or got drunk and did the 'Elaine Dance" or the key to her vault, Peach Schnapps... So I guess those episodes made me want to throw a few back with her...

The sound is more harmonic guitars and most isn't mixed to sound heavy. Although, Dimmu Borgir does it pretty well and is heavy. I like Emperor too.

Death Metal is fucking heavy, thick, brutal music with low, guttural vocals but will use higher screams and there's usually not an onstage gimmick. Suffocation is a good example. Cannibal Corpse, Dying Fetus, Morbid Angel.

To someone who doesn't give 2 shits, they're just noise. But they're as different as AC/DC and Weezer in the mind of a Metal fan.
