I wanted to hate this idiots new material. Nobody annoys me more than Axl Rose. Your just taking Rock & Roll a little too seriously if you need to spend 10 yrs or more working on an album . Speaking of taking 10 yrs or more - isn't BOSTON about due?

I'm sure most of you have heard the new Guns tune - but here is a live version of Madagascar.

What do you think?

It kinda sucks. Axl is horrible live, but I'd like to give it a chance with the recorded version.

I'm with Moe, might sound better in the studio. And Axl's never been good live. Song's OK. Not "wait 10 years for it" Ok. Just OK.
Almost as good as the MTv music awards, but not quite at that zenith.
That opening part sounded like something my elementary school band would play at the spring concert.

So sad.

The story of Axl Rose could have been a great one, but it's just going to be a footnote in Rock history.

Anyone who followed them from the beginning (I had Appetite a year before it shot up the charts) knew they were too self destructive to last. And in a way, thats real rock and roll.

I remember seeing them at the Ritz in 88, which was later aired on MTV. The week before they were supposed to do an acoustic set at the Limelight, and were so shit-faced they tried about 2 songs and gave up. And they kept pulling shit like that the whole time they were together. Not showing up for concerts, walking out halfway through. So no one can say it was any suprise they self destructed. The did have an "Appetite" for it.

Could have been one of the greatest rock bands ever. Appetite is a near Perfect album. As was mentioned, they were destined to self destruct. I mentioned this before, ego's and Heroin are a dangerous combination.

BTW, Madagascar sounds like Squidward's Band at the Bubble Bowl!

Can anybody put up the audio of that?

Guns N Roses played Rock In Rio in 2000 (I may be off by a year or two...) and played for the first time with the "new" lineup. They played a couple of songs there, which all leaked onto napster. I've had a copy of Madagascar live for 5-6 years. Now, whenever it comes onto my iPod, I skip to the next song.
