Hangovers and food don't always mix, but sometimes they do.

I was just "enjoying" some ramen noodles and I realized I aways made this in my hot pot in college after a night out on the town.

I also remember a time when I'd sleep on my friend's couch in the East Village on a Saturday night. We'd wake around noon on Sunday morning and get rolling around 1pm. We'd head for Bennie's Burritos on Avenue A. I never could dig the breakfast burrito (eggs and mexican food would make me whorf from both ends) but I did enjoy the Bennie's super burrito. It was moy yummy. My friend would end each brunch by exclaiming "I'm birthing a burrito baby!"

Any food concoctions that make you feel better after birthing a beer baby?

I could go 2 ways with this one: When I was in the Navy and we came back to the barracks from partying, my chef buddy would always hook up some hamburger helper. he used to own a portable skillet and even though it took a little long, it was the best meal ever before going to bed.

Nowadays if i'm out with a few friends, we'd hit the nearest Diner and order french fries with gravy. The best!!!

I've always felt tomatoes and spicy food helped with a hangover. I don't know if there is any scientific backing to that, but it works for me, so I usually go with a spicy virgin mary. Other than that.

Pizza,steak,homefries,buffalo wings.

Grease, grease and more grease. Although I haven't had it in years, the best hangover food was biscuits and sausage gravy, with scrambled eggs and grits, along with a diet coke. I used to go to Old Devil Moon in the east village all the time for it.

For a hangover you've got to crap out the toxins, so greasy food like home-fries and ham/egg/cheese bagles are necessary.

I've read that vitamin B is good for hangovers, and can also prevent them. So it's OK to get a Jumbo Slice on 18th Street.

I love gyros after a night out. Not for breakfast but for a mid-afternoon meal. With a Greek salad, fries and a coke it puts me into a better place.

If you want some quick relief, rub lemon slices on your armpits. I know this sounds crazy, but it really works. My brother-in-law found it in a natural cure book. I tried it on New Year's Day and it wiped out my headache and weak stomach in less than a half-hour. It worked again a few weeks later.

Funny Alice I was thinking about this the other day. For me nothing works better than a couple of slices of pizza and a big coke. The grease, dough, and coke make everything feel better.

When me and my buddies used to go out late night after drinking all night I would always get a burger, my buddy Andy would get eggs, and my pal Guido (Vince) would get what ever was on special.

To be back in college again. I remember one time we were starving and ended up in a 7-11 and were going to get death dogs but they were out so we just bought a package of hot dogs and buns and cooked them right there in the store.

It's been so long since I actually had a hangover that I can barely remember it. But if memory serves, when I have a hangover I'm not hungry at all, so ginger ale is really the only thing I can deal with.

A fat blast followed by a beer run always hits the spot.
I'm with Moe...once I got to the hangover stage, it was too late for food. Pretty much just water, crackers/bread or some "hair of the dog" and that's it. The key for me is eating something while I am drunk, or drinking, and making sure I get that water, at least one glass for every 3 drinks. Whenever I do that I can drink a LOT more and longer AND feel infinitely better the next day, because once I hit the hangover stage, I'm doomed for a day of misery if I have one.

When I drink to get drunk I always do it like a retard. I WISH I had enough foresight to set up water in the middle of my binge, but I'm just slamming whiskey and beer like I'm the King of Ireland.

The day after a binge is usually set aside as "quiet time" for me. Kinda like a really late night out with Unhallowed. My body is tired and beaten so I just rest. But with the hangover my stomach is usually queasy so like Mojo said, if ANYTHING is eaten it's just shit like crackers and possibly soup. Basically it's "Home from School Sick" food that day.

I'm going to add an old and current favorite. A toasted onion
bagel with chive cream cheese and a 1/2 gallon bottle of lemon/lime
gatorade. The gatorade is served in a chilled glass and filled
with ice.
Gatorade is my favorite cure! I notice many people saying that they eat greasy food. What is it about greasy food that makes the hangover go away? Just curious.. Usually if my stomach is upset, its the last thing Im thinking about! I figure it'd give you the runs, no? Easy to puke up too, right?

This isn't if your really hungover with vommiting and stuff. But if you're really out of it and tired mountain dew helps you wake up and gives you energy.

I remember once going to a party at a friend's place in CT. The next day we all headed to Denny's. After a filling breakfast I felt worlds better.

I don't know what it is about grease. Is it the "dump factor?"

My ex husband once told me he went out with friends in England. He really tied one on the night before and felt like death. The next day he had a "traditional" English breakfast with eggs, beans, and black pudding. After he dropped a deuce he felt imminently better.

Is it the "dump factor?"

I think that's a huge part of it. Whenever I get in that state and I'm sweating it out on the bowl and praying for death I always remind myself that I'm eliminating the poison from my body.
