I remember when they first heard it on WNEW...Ani Difranco was
set to play on Letterman but there was some controversy....she wanted
to play a song but the Letterman people didn't want her to...I remember
Ronnie being somewhat up in arms over it saying, "why invite her if you
wont let her play what she wants." Ron then asked to hear the
song and just lost it after the first line. It's been one of my
favorite audio clips ever.

When are they going to have her in studio? Her people should know that she has been a topic of conversation on a certain radio show for years now.

Earl can play cow bell.

She's been self producing and promoting albums for about 15 years and sells out pretty much everywhere she goes - some of the most loyal fanbases anywhere. Toured with Dylan - collaborated with Prince. Very prolific, and smart, and even though she is an indie her new releases almost always merit a mention in the Best Buy and Circuit City circulars - without any radio exposure (including sat-rad). As she illustrated by walking away from Letterman, she doesn't need or really seek out promotion. Her live CDs (imo) are some of the best ever released.

In summary - I would be very surprised if she showed up on Ron & Fez anytime - ever.

It's the sequel to her song Long Division which is about white people being so scared of yellow people.

OK. REAL QUICK HERE.

I "found" some Ani Difranco. After listening to 2 full songs, I only have one question:

How has she not sued Alanis Morisette and WON!???!?!?

Jesus, I see she goes back A LOT farther than Alanis' "Jagged Little Pill" CD that I love, and Ani's singing style is everything Alanis was doing there if you ask me.

Not sure of the exact date, but I believe it was the Puddin & Hippie in a Hockey Shirt era. I'll add it to the file library this weekend.

Forget a mere appearance on R&F.XM should give her a show of her own. When will the corporates get a clue to the real music that's out there? Not just a few shots, like black Oscars. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/sns-ap-obit-parks,1,4700334.story?coll=chi-news-hed
