They are a foe. Face it, if you take away our war on terrorism, the next big war will be a Cold War with China. I don't believe that they would just wipe us off the map (they still are not as powerful as we are, yet), and I'm optimistically hoping that the people of China itself don't really *hate* us (I don't imagine they love Communism all *that* much). But we can't ever trust them.

i saw a documentary on pbs last night on china, and how relly repressive they are: no free press, no religion, people from the country have to sneak in to the citys to collect garbage(80 milion people do this) and if you are caught doing any of these things you could be publicly executed. just to name a few examples. as soon as they step foot near taiwan, boom!
