Sometimes, when my wife wakes me up in the morning, I kinda get "shocked" awake. My eyes open really wide, like I'm ready for a fight or something. Everytime I do that...my wife says "calm down, Don Knotts, it's only me..." To which I always laugh and do a (lame) Mr. Furley impression.

And that's my Don Knotts tribute story.

Funny, funny man. First Grandpa Al and now this - DAMN YOU 2006! Maybe time for me to go relisten to Bitz from almost exactly a year ago when he did his one man tribute to Don Knotts.

i hadnt heard about this all day. just flipped on cnn and larry king was showing clips. mr knotts was definitely a part of my life growing up, and like others in this thread, i occasionally do a barney fife sniffle as i pull up my gun belt.

other than the apple dumpling gang, i never got into his movies, but fife and furley are 2 of my all time favorite sitcom characters.

thank you sir, and r.i.p.
