Lachey cited irreconcilable differences for the dissolution of the

But spousal support is usually for situations where children are involved, or the spouse (usually the wife) gave up her career long ago for the marriage, and has lost years that could have been spent developing a career. It is common for a woman who still works through a marriage to get spousal suport from the husband who generaly earns more, just so the wife could maintain her lifestyle after the divorce.
