I am a radio junkie. Have been for decades. Have listened to the likes of Stern, O&A, NYC's Franklin and DC's Spivack, both old guard, National jabroni's from Larry King, Jim Bohannan, and all the rest. They all pale in comparison to One Ron Bennington and one Fez Marie Whatley. Why? one word: Funny. How do you define funny? How do you measure funny? What is, funny? From Mr. B's ability to conjure past references that we all have experienced, like talking about when we were 8, running into the kitchen, chugging a glass of water breathlessly, then storming back out to the neighborhood melee like your life depended on it, to Fez's lightening quick quips and rejoinders, riffing off Ron's lead remarks, this is why we listen and laugh. They see the absurdity of our present human condition, and point out the total absurdity of it all. The further absurdity of celebrating "100 shows" on Friday, then using this as a way of rehashing proven bits from the past 4 months was radio gold. The Elfish arc, with the wagering getting more absurd by the week, and Fez's continued reaction to losing, were hilarious. The show where Ronny talked about LSD to Fez and playing the Jefferson Airplane's "White rabbit" (Feed your Head!), was Peabody award level humor. I could cite endless chapter and verse of other favorites of mine, but leave it at these two fellows with their cast of supporting characters (East side Dave especially, with that maniacal laugh), truly help me make it through the day of otherwise absolute gray darness. One more thing about these guys. Unlike the mean spirited Opie and Anthony, R&f's on air personnas are truly that of decent, nice guys. Their giving a Earl (Right Black at ya-[my suggestion, by the way]), the respect and good natured ribbing he takes, makes me feel good about the enviroment created there. Not being an O&A listener before XM, it appears that R&F gave Earl a clean slate to be hip, happening, and not regarded as a screw-up. I love Earl and his tastes in music (other than yoko). I also feel bad for him when he seems to be put on the spot. He seems to be a gentle soul, looking to please. In conclusion, if XM charged me $500 a year for R&F, I would still feel this is a bargain. You can't quantify good radio. Thank you R&F for making me laugh frequently and from the gut. I was wondering if other posters coud offer their best moments of the recent XM episodes.

They are the best. Fez's audio cardiac diary was hilarious. Ron B talking to Paul-O and jerking him around if the best

no need to. other peoples' favorite gags to remember was all I was looking for, and to post how their show is such a highlight of my day, that's it.

Mike the Teacher, heard you on R&F talking about the mass muderer Ed Gein. FYI, you may haven't heard of this, there was a book published, late 70's early 80's titled, "Bloodletters abd Bad Men" (or badman), that is a encyclopdia of mass murderers and nut cases. Ed Gein was one of many mentioned. A huge coffee table book. The best. My brother borrowed it from me and never gave it back. Not to kiss your ass, but if I had a teacher 1/2 as enthusiatic, knowledgeable, and down to earth as you, I probably wouldn't have skipped school and gotten wasted half as much as I did in high school.

It's just harder to read because of the lack of line breaks.

I'm with you 110%, Rockville. Not only the show, but Ron and Fez themselves as people are truly one in a million.

How
many other radio hosts would go away for a weekend with a listener like
Fez did with Elfish? And can you think of any other guys who
routinely let fans in the studio and hang out with them at parties like
our boys do?

Being a "budday" of Ron and Fez truly is like
being part of a special community. The laughs we get for 3 hours
every day is just an incredible bonus.
