BDC things are so bad that when reyes hit that triple i was hoping he'd go for an inside the parker. then i see a 37 year old man stretching a single to a double with the play right in front of him.

yes i know his thinking, what i'm saying is that thinking is wrong. you need to get the offense going a little bit. you're going to overuse the bullpen regardless. with perez pitching tomorrow, you SHOULD try to fire all cannons tonight and steal this one.

This is really becoming a nightmare. With Perez going tommorrow we are quickly looking at "Wait till next year!" Unfortunately the starting pitching problem has finally bitten them in the ass. There is no way they come back in this series. Tigers vs. Cards... Wake me when it's over.

Have I mentioned that I've been following this team since 1970?

UGH!

heres the difference between mo and wagner, and this is going to hurt to say it, because although i'm a met fan, i'm a yankee hater. Mo's blow ups in the post season are almost forgivable because they are in the post season ALL THE TIME. and 98 times out of 100 he gets the job done 1-2-3. he's the best to have ever done it.

with the mets, we are STARVING for another world series. we're tired of being second class in this town. which is why we take delight in the yankees falling apart. why last saturday was the greatest day we've had in a long time, yankees getting bounced and the mets beating LA. we're not used to this. we need our closer to be perfect. god help him if we get to the world series and blows a game.

oh hey look motas in the game.

At least the Yankees lost to a team with a respectable record...man, that hurt. I thought Kenny Rogers walking the Braves to the WS in 1999 was painful. Ouch. Man this hurts even worse.

Mets Fans, no need to hang your heads. You had a great year and with a little better pitching and some key hits you'll be in the world series.

The catch in left has to be in the top 5 of all-time "homerun robbing catches"...

Ok, I have had a half hour to calm down (scrubbing sinks will get some frustrations out), and it is easy to point fingers at Beltran. Lord knows I just did it. But lets face the facts. The game was lost when you have two on, no one out and you can not convert. Bases loaded and one out and cant convert. It is easy to blame Beltran, but he is merely the effect and not the cause of the problems that culminated in this loss.

It was a great season, and a fun ride. Just a shame the way that it ended. As was said in Brooklyn for ages...'Wait til next year.' Lets see what the Mets do to plug the gaps in the offseason. It can be just as fun as watching a great season. Does it fill in the gap that a world series trophy brings?? No, but what else can be done. The season is over.
