When/If you pick numbers for the lottery, do you pick your own numbers or do you have them do quick-pick? Do you have any reason or belief that numbers you pick yourself are more likely to win? Are there any statistics that support one way of picking numbers to be more likely to result in a win over another?

almost always quik-pik although i got 5 out of 6 on pik-6 by picking numbers on the card. i would make a pattern like the 4 corner numbers and two most center numbers

and just give me the cash, i'm not picky

I keep my money because gambling is stupid and a complete waste of money.

Doesn't matter. As long as I know my gambling is funding educational stuff.

Yeah right.

The only time I play the lottery is when the jackpot is obscenely large, and I ALWAYS do the quick pick.
Once I even got 2 out of 6!

quick pick because i read in the paper once that statistically there are more winners who let the computer pick then picking yourself.

i use my own numbers for the same reason i play in the 1st place; the day i dont is when theyll come in. also, i always pick lump sum.

If you have your own numbers and don't play there's always that terror that they finally hit. Quick picks are the way for sane people.

quick pick cause i dont give a shit, i only buy lotto tickets over 100 million, and anyone who even thinks they have a better chance picking themselves is retarded
I usually spend 2 bucks...1 set of my own numbers and then 1 quick pick...usually don't have much luck with either until about 2 weeks ago I hit 4 numbers in the powerball with the quick pick....paid 100$

I have always done it by quick pick, and I never won. I never even got more than 3 numbers either!
But I never knew anyone that won a great deal on it anyway, but those that won anything, seemed to do it by picking themselves. Im just wondering what most people do. I only rarely do it, like if its a very high amount. Like maybe once or twice a year, if that. But for some reason, I chose to buy for tonites Lotto and for Wed Mega Millions, and put $5 down for both, and had them do quick pick.

when i worked at Colgate from 83-87 we had several bookies and they would use the last three numbers of the meadowlands track handle from the night before as the number. in two weeks i hit the number straight for 500 each hit. each time i gave the guy a 50 dollar tip but never felt right about whether i tipped too much...

i remember the look on the guys face as he mumbled "yeah you got lucky kid"... i played for two more weeks and never played again. in the 4 years i was there i only played for a total of five weeks

maybe i'm a conspiracy nut but i always felt that the computer knew what the numbers would be and when you do quick pick it would check those numbers before it picked them for you
