Bruce peaked right after "Born to Run" (coincidentally, not to far after Fezzie peaked)

After that, some cool stuff on the stupid Born in the USA album, but not a perfect album.

"Nebraska".....

SEEEYA!!!

I just saw a Bruce show from 1975 on PBS or something. He was unreal! I am still a Bruce fan to this day. He is the real deal. At least he did'nt pull a Rod Stewart and release a crap album of old standards. I'll take a pass on Hungry Heart though.
I hate all of it. Barf.
He lost me at about Born in the USA. Candy's Room and She's the One are two of my all time favorite songs. His guitar work on the song Human Touch is pretty awesome.

I voted just "Dislike."

I will not hate on the man. He's a real musical tallent and he's become a world renouned musician.

But I never really cared for his Folk/Rock shit and I HATE the fact that if you're from Jersey you're supposed to love this meatball.

He's not the legend people make him out to be but he's doing very well for himself so good for him on that note. Also, good for him that he's an original song writer and good musician.

Dave,

I took your poll but don't take that the wrong way...

i still like Bruce even though sometimes he takes himself too seriously. I think The River is my favorite and Factory. I used to drive my pop to work when he was on midnights at the Colgate Plant in Jersey City and i would just watch him go past the guard shack and down the street towards the river and disappear into one of the buildings. There was steam coming out of the sewer plates and i remember how it seemed he was entering a different world from where i was on other side of the gate...

Nebraska is easily one of the few albums I'd have buried with me when I die.

Everything else of "The Boss" just makes me wonder why he was more famous than Meatloaf. Born To Run sounds like the great lost 'Loaf album with just a tiny bit less bombast.

I like some of the early stuff, but he lost me when he became the jingoistic macho man. This is a dicey topic in my family cause my cousin is 1 of his lawyers.
Sweet tap-dancin' Jesus, Mojo!

First of all, Nebraska is an ego stroking, yeah, I wanna go back to being Dylan again, abrortion of a record!

Not unlike "Greetings From Asbury Park, NJ". which I love, even though "Dillonesque", not pompous or self-serving. Though Manfred Mann chose to cover a couple of tracks.

Yeas, I know. Manfred Mann sucks!!

Go to The Wild, The Innocent, and the E-Street Shufffle to appreciate not just Bruce, but the E-Street Band.

Born to Run album, no coment. The record speaks for itself.

And then Darkness On the Edge of Town. The last REAL Bruce album! An iPod favorite~

Where is the "completely overrated" option?

The man is talented. No one has disputed that here, but what's with all the Jersey love? He writes songs about wanting to get the fuck out, moved to Cali as soon as he was able, and New Jersey goes ape shit for him.

I love him, despite been in the Royal Albert Hall in london last year when he told us to "shut the fuck up" you gotta love him for that at least.

By the way I have uploaded 20 Bruce videos to you tube if you want to check them out.

http://www.youtube.com/results?search=mrchappelow&search_type=search_vide os&search=Search

i'm more in the 'eh' section ...
can't most of it -- overplayed, outdated cock-rock anthems ... but there are a few songs that aren't too bad

Yeah, it sounds like a skinnier version of Meatloaf.

=

Check out the liner notes to 'Bat out of Hell' and it becomes a bit clearer why it often sounds like Springsteen, as it's Max Weinberg and Roy Bittan of the E St. band playing drums and piano, respectively, on much of BooH.
