<p>Time to pony up for the 2006 Road to the Roses challenge----www.roadtotheroses.com<br /><br />You have to pick 10 horses, 2 jockeys and 2 trainers to start. Prizes are on above website<br /><br /><br />Last year I finished pretty lousy myself but my best gal's stable finished 4th in the nation. <br />>http://www.ronfez.net/messageboard/viewmessages.cfm/Forum/82/Topic/43952/page/Kentucky_Derby_Challenge_2005.htm<br /><br />This year is wide open but I will give you some of the professional handicapper's top picks in accordance with thier trainer:<br /><br />Pletcher:<br />1) Bluegrass Cat<br />2) High Cotton<br />3) My Golden Song<br />4) Half Ours<br />5) Wait awhile<br />6) Keyed Entry<br /><br />#1 is the best of the bunch right now and Pletcher usually uses John R Velazquez to ride his mounts.<br /><br />Bob Baffert:<br />1) Bob and John<br />2) Point Determined<br />3) Point of Impact<br />4) Royal Legacy<br />5) Sky Diving<br />6) Sinister Minister<br />7) Too Much Bling<br /><br />Baffert has a slew of horses, again #1 is the best of the bunch<br /><br />Zito:<br /><br />1) Superfly <br />2) Little Cliff<br />3) Major Tom<br />4) Doc Cheney<br />5) Hesanoldsalt<br /><br />Zito is sure to have more contenders when all is said and done...these are his best right now<br /><br />Holthus:<br /><br />1) Lawyer Ron (my choice to make a surprise run at the crown)<br /><br />Asmussen:<br /><br />1) Private Vow<br />2) Doctor Dechard<br />3) Itsallaboutthechase<br /><br />Asmussen is a strong trainer, none of these especially #1 would suprise me<br /><br />Other contenders:<br /><br />-First Samurai (brothers trains)<br />-Brother Derek (Hendricks trains)<br />-Barbaro (Matz trains)<br />-Barbican and A.P. <p>Some potentially good horses. Keep an eye out for Barbaro, he is a versatile colt who can go on turf or grass. </p>

I had 6 horses running yesterday and the horse that I decided to leave inactive was A.P. Warrior. Dammit.
