Aw, man. That's too bad. I guess there's no chance for a William Hung-type retraction.

Bummer. His songs had some of the best drum beats in music. They just fit the song perfectly. Simple and solid. I don't think I've ever head a Wilson Pickett song I didn't like. My two favorites are Knock OnWood and LAND OF A THOUSAND DANCES ( one of my all time favorite drum beats) In the pocket and oh so tight. Always paid tribute to the groove. - Bummer.

if you enjoyed his music here is a good movie with a great soundtrack. i saw it once and thought the singer was lip syncing to Wilson Pickett but i was just reading up on the soundtrack a little and the guy was actually singing, his name is Andrew Strong... Great Voice!

"In The Midnight Hour" was one of the first songs I figured out how to play on the guitar. I'd drive everyone crazy playing it over and over again trying to sound half as bad-ass as Wilson Pickett.
Truly a legend.
