WOW! What a show, I loved it.
I wonder how many people taped it and and missed the ten minute over-run.

I didn't think it was that great. You never feel as if Clark is in any danger, I mean you know the lead is not in any danger in shows like this, Buffy, etc. but there is a possibility for the main character to be hurt in other shows. As far as Superman- there is no possibility which I think is bad.
I also don't like Blonde Willow and Blander.
And the popculture references spouted by Blander...I don't know. In Buffy it usually seems to fit but in this show it seems totally forced.
However the kid who plays Luthor is surprisingly great.

It wasn't too bad, but there was an overrun? I watched the whole show and didn't notice...

The only thing I didn't like was the dream sequence of Clark and Lana in the barn. The first one, with the football, was appropriate, but not the second one.
Is it just me, or is Lex finding out about Clarks' powers too soon?
The plot gimmick of the kyrptonite cleavage turning Clark into a retard is a nice touch, but is Lex gonna give Lana the necklace back? The only way he can is to give it to Clark and watch the hijinks begin!

It was pretty good, Ive seen better shows but it wasnt the worse one out there. The dream sequence with Lana was pretty stupid and made no sense, and the guy who played Lex did a great job.

A little trivia for you people, The woman who plays Clark's mom on the show also play Lana Lang in Superman III.

*sigh*...Ikeaboy...this is about Clarks teenage life. Lana Lang was his girlfriend in Smallville and is a recuring character in Superman comics continuity....

Erin, I know. Did I say I didn't know. But do you deny that the majority of the public only knows about Lois and Clark and Lex? I believe that. I was referring to the public, not myself personally.

Yeah, I've seen the movies (not in a while though) but never read the comics and don't know all the characters.

I loved the show also, WWFallon. Gotta love this new teen-angst WB drama that basically replaced Buffy.
Is Lois Lang or whatever his love interest in the show from MTV's Undressed. To the Old School Nick fans out there, doesn't she have a striking resemblance to Deena from Salute Your Shorts?
WHAT's UP WIT DAT?!?
Another quick question, where was Lex Luther from? I thought he was Paul Rudd. Anyone can help me with that? My friends say he looks familiar but they can not pinpoint it.
Didn't Lex Luther look like Powder? Or is it just me?
Great first episode. Can't wait for next week.
Zoinks! I'm out!

Luthor was from that bad WB show "Zoe, Duncan, Jack and Jane". He also kinda looks like Ben Affleck a little bit, which is why it's probably triggering your memory.

It wasn't bad, but I certainly wasn't floored. Maybe it will take a few episodes to find it's groove.
And what's the deal with Superboy using his telescope to check out Lana's house. You KNOW he moved it from the window to the porch as soon as they yelled "action."

Eh, it was better than I thought it would be. But it still had WAY too many "Dawson's Creek" moments in it for my liking. Oh well, I guess it's better than "Lois and Clark" - for now.
I agree with all of those who said Lex was good. And I thought Lana was pretty hot.
Tenbatsuzen, you are truly evil. I got a huge laugh out of your Richard Pryor / Reeves comment. :)

A: Christopher Reeves after a house fire.

No doubt that Lex did a good job. I liked the effects in the intro and was shocked how they showed the meteor killing Lana's parents ... cool
Anyone else follow the whole Superman/Batman Justice vs Righteousness subthread that occurred in DC Finest series.
I also was floored the other night when Fez gave a Jonah Hex reference ... woo hoo memories

The show really ticked me off... They take a very good comic book and turn it into another teen melodrama... I can just see in about 4 months they will have no more episode ideas and it's going to be like, "On the Next Smallsville, Lana has a drinking problem... Can Clark cope?" <P> What it needs to be a good show: Show some of his struggle between how he becomes good... I mean, superman HAD to be tempted sometime in his life, what set him on that hardcore goodguy thing he has in the comics... Lastly, replace Lex Luthor with Al Dukes and keep that head shiny ;)
