I like the Kenny Allen bit. The only reason I listen everyday is just in case the bit returns.

Earl is interested in art & music, which is very cool, especially in our nation's most culturally rich city. The other producers, aside from Keshia (agent provocateur par excellence), were little more than victims and psychotic malcreants, providing the lowest of low brow entertainment & cringefests, which still can be funny, but every once in a while, it's nice to take a few steps up the evolutionary ladder and walk upright sans knuckle dragging.

Earl is good people, a great sport and a great producer. Glad to have Mikey D back, hope Billy isn't on the outs with the show. Hope Iris comes back soon, and The Nature Boy.

I just place my trust in Ron and Fez and their judgement. IMO Earl is not there to be 'funny'. Earl stays!

Gumshoe Gang? just like the Fezatorials are just 'okay' for me. I could just listen to Ron and Fez speak and take calls all day without these two...

I like the fact that Ron is really a dirty old man like myself and the women still love his ass. Comedy is a great door opener, and a hit radio show doesn't hurt either.

I really like Tender's songs. The Call that Melted Fezzie Down is overplayed anymore but Friday Night Lights was awesome and "Fez is one pee shy guy" is my favorite.

I also used to like Friday Night Shows and contests where Ron would tell a story from his past and then have callers call in to tell stories to win a prize. I liked Ron's stories from his time in Vietnam.

I liked East Side Dave on the radio but he was stealing so much air time from Fez that I thought Cameron was going to call in and Ron was going to chase him down the street with a phone.

The FNL Song was one of those odd things that everyone liked the very, very first time it was done, but then the more it went, the more cringy it became. It was good for tons of material, though, right up until the very last show on JFK when R&F gave some very funny additional commentary over it. Tender's Fez Meltdown song was kind of the same, but for me it was more cringy because I don't like anyone making fun of Fez, and the "Waa Waa Waa" eventually seemed ironic when Tender had his brilliant meltdown on the show last June. "Pee Shy" is good because it's also very short and to the point. All in all, Tender is/was very very talented and gave the guys a lot of good material for the first half of 2005
quote:
I thought Cameron was going to call in and Ron was going to chase him down the street with a phone.
THAT'S funny! What an excellent call back. Everyone remembers, or knows about, Fez's Mikey D. meltdown, but it was just a week or so later Ron's frustration with the station spilled over into him exploding on the air.
I'd rather have hope in my soul than soap in my hole...

quote:Yea, for 28 minutes straight? No thanks.
Actually you'd have to play "Pee Shy Fezzie" 28 times for that - it is very short. Maybe less than a minute long.

quote:
"Fez is one pee shy guy" is something you could really dance to.

You mean "Pee Shy Fezzy", done to the tune of "Pinball Wizard"? Awful. The really cringy part of it is, that Fez showed up to Friday Night Lights the week before they played that on air, expecting to chill with buddays on a low-key night after a week of shows, but unbeknownst to him, Tender coordinated with the owner of Thursdays to have Tender's band do a set that night. "Pee Shy Fezzy" premiered in front of a (presumably) less than pleased Fez.

While it's great when old friends and characters come back, and R&F can find their way back into the show, but it's also cool when they turn over something new and hit paydirt. Today's show is a perfect example - we had some vintage WNEW with Mikey D., some sexy fearless silly Keshia and late WJFK, but then we had Harry's Mama, who (along with her cousin) is an all star, imo.
I'd rather have hope in my soul than soap in my hole...
Thank god. If I ever heard that song again it would be too soon. Tender ran so hot and cold! I thought the Fezzie meltdown song was pretty good, but the Friday Night Lights was unlistenable. Perrynoid, on the other hand, is consistantly great with is songs. Fat Baby and Fatty Pneumonia are my favorites.
