Live Cars = Most boring show I've ever seen. I could have saved the money, stayed home and listen to the records.

Speaking of the records, !st two awesome. after that...

POOP!

weird. I thought the later years stuff was also crappy. But the song "magic" may be one of the best songs of all time. I never really paid attention to the song - it's a great rock & roll song. And I thinks its pretty cool how - you can hear them sample the high heel clicking sounds from the intro of their song "since you're gone" after he sings the line --- "High shoes with the cleats a-clickin' " from MAGIC. I just think it's cool that they sampled from themselves. Not to mention the amazing lyrics
rick ocasek writes. The guy is one of the all time greats with lyrics and hooklines & melodies. Sadly, I think The Cars get caugh up in that "cheezy synth pop 80's flash band thing" when in reality, The Cars are one of American music's best rock & roll bands. Lets face it folks, this band was 2 good 4 the 80's. For thos of you who will comment on how they were new wave or pussed out with overbearing keyboards and at times over-the top- production, get passed it. Listen to the raw outline of the song. BTW - I bet even the Cars would be picking the Redskins to kick the new dork giants ass tomorrow. Great bands from the 80's do not erase the past: 36-0. u shall pay.

I saw the Cars in the early 80 with XTC as an opener. The cars live show is a little boring, but I love their music. Elliott Easton is amazing! He wrote such tasteful solos that really fit the song. I always prefered Ben Orrs vocals over Rick's for some reason. If you are looking for old shows try searching under "King Biscuit Flower Hour" "The Cars". I remember hearing them on that show many years ago. Good luck.

Sady, The Cars are reuniting....kinda.

Ric Ocasek will not be participating and Ben Orr is, after all, dead. Instead...Todd Rungren will be fronting the band. Oh yeah, almost forgot....THEY REHIRED THE ORIGINAL KEYBOARD PLAYER!! I'm sure that'll put asses in seats.

To top it all off....they are calling themselves THE NEW CARS.

If anyone here can think of something more lame, I'd love to hear it.

The Cars' first album is one of my favorites. I still remember taking the record album into art class in 9th grade to play and kids calling it "punk rock." I still have it. The cd is in my heavy rotation pile. Timeless.
