I need HELP. I know this has been discussed before. My 13 yr old son wants to download Lymewire. I told him I think it is an illegal site, but he said that you have to pay 35 dollars for it so it is O.K. I need to know for sure before I do this. The website was confusing.

Thank you in advance

Mendy

I use it occasionally, works for me. Probably somewhat illegal, like Kazaa and Napster before...
If I had the ability, I would switch the Y from mendyweiss' "Lymewire" thread with the I from Cosmic Circus' "RICHARD PRIOR DEAD" thread.

Why not just learn about bit torrents and go COMPLETELY illegal? Better selection too.

i don't know what he's telling you but just cause you pay for some
program service doesn't make it legal some things on the Internets
found a way to make money off unknowing folks by charging them for a
program that you could easily find similar to it for free

in example there some sites that make you pay for the service and they
end up giving you links to download programs that are free in the first
place i think it's like tv.org they make it look like there
helping you but there basicly stealing your money

this is how it is if you don't own it already and you have a digital
copy of it it's illegal thats probably a sloppy explanation of
the digital millennium copywrite law or what ever it's called

now if you wanna spend money pay me $35 bucks and I'll show him how to use Azures and isohunt.com

or just keep the kid away form the internets it's a bad place

You're better off using Limewire. Ive used napster and MSN music before
and even though you payed for the song, you still have limits on what
you can do with it. Ive noticed that MSN and Napster only download in
WMA format and its protected from being bured onto a CD. Limewire is
good. Just dont go with Imesh
