This will be HBK type moment where he starts the Rumble and last for like 70 minutes.

doubt it. Cena will win so he can challenge the rock

I didnt say Ziggler will win. He wont. But he will last a really long time and will use that in future promos. Only 4 guys have lasted over an hour in the Rumble, and 2 of those won. I have a feeling Ziggler will be #5 and lose.

And there is you WWE predictability...

I always been annoyed by that. For so many years, the heel champion comes out first, so that the more popular babyface main eventer comes out last. I honestly can't remember the last time a heel champion came out first in the main event.

Dissapointing how predictable the WWE is anymore. Pretty much saw everything coming except Y2J showing up. I dont know when Vince will wake up. Maybe when Cena has 60,000 rabid east coast fans booing and chanting crazy obscene shit at Cena during Wrestlemania he will finally wake up. But even if that was the plan, they couldve planned this PPV out much better.

Whoever said Cena winning sucked the life out of the crowd was exactly right. Im sure botching the finish they stole of from the Cena / Batista Rumble didnt help either.

Rock and Punk shouldve been before the Rumble. Even if they planned it out exactly the same. Have Rock win, stand there, posture, whatever. Then have the Rumble match, have Cena win, and while hes posing and thumping his chest have The Rock run in, Plant him with a rock bottom, point to the Wrestlemania sign, and fade to black. Same results but a ten times better show.

styckx
01-28-2013, 06:32 AM
I read the results and lol'ed when I saw "Winner: John Cena" for the rumble..

Has there ever been a wrestler so overly forced down the audiences throat in a "please like him still" style as vince has John Cena? Fans started rejecting him 5 years ago.. Here we are and Vince is still booking this faggot to win the marquee match of a major PPV.

conman823
01-28-2013, 07:56 AM
All predictability aside this Rumble was heads and tails above the last 2 Rumbles.

So far everyone will have to follow that Rock/Punk match at WM. I think Punk looked good even in defeat and his smug arrogance after the shield attack even had my pissed off. Let's see now what type fof Champ The Rock makes heading into WM. Don't forget Punk gets a rematch and the Chamber is happening before WM. Still time to shuffle the deck.

We all knew this was going to happen. I really wanted to turn it off after ziggler got eliminated. I mean why even fuckin bother? And you had him cut a promo in the ring before it started. For what? Im about as big a mark for The Rock as you can find, and after reading this, even Im saying "Please God no."

- There are rumors that The Rock will debut a new WWE Title belt on tonight's RAW from Las Vegas. A regular reader who wished to remain anonymous passed along the following photo which is rumored to be the new belt. Again, this is rumored and not confirmed:

I was extremely disappointed in Ziggler last night. Aside from the start of the Rumble all he did was dangle on the bottom rope in the corner all night and take stupid bumps into the ropes. He looked like an idiot out there and IMO blew his whole chance to make a great show of himself. By the time he got thrown out I had forgot he was still in it. He didn't break any records he didn't have any memorable moments. I expected better.

There isn't any wrestling comp to them and there isn't shit to watch mondays.

And who's turning into WM to watch Rock job to Cena? It's so obvious it's time to give Cena the belt again and since Rock went over last WM it's only obvious he's losing this one. Cena is at a level of people hating him so much and people so tired of him they can't even get the energy up to hate him properly.. Even his own fans call it in anymore.. Even if he went heel now, no one will give a shit.. Remember when Vince took chances? Heel Cena would have been money just over a year ago with his feud with Punk.. People were BEGGING Vince to make Cena heel. It was *the time*. The fans, even his fans were down with the idea. Punk was out popping, out selling, and had a metric shit ton of momentum to carry heel Cena on his shoulders and the two could have made a shit ton of cash together.

And nothing came of it.. Vince takes Cena away from Punk to not tarnish his reputation and turned Punk into some weird tweener that didn't make much sense for the longest ass time. Punk really didn't get into his heel stride until he was teamed up with Heyman.

Somehow RAW got a 3.68 rating.... People seriously turned in just to see Rock and I assume Jericho helped a bit too.

What are they going to do when they don't have these legends to wheel in anymore for a temp ratings boost?

Jericho I don't mind because he's been in full on "put over the young guys" mode for a while now and works house shows.. At least he's spreading the wealth and helping the overall product. The Rock while he does bring in the ratings really isn't adding to the overall product at all.

Rock will drop the strap at WM putting Cena over. Does Cena need to be the one getting the rub here? No. Hes held the belt 10x's so its not exactly putting over "young talent". But when Andre "passed the torch" to Hogan he had been champ for 3yrs at that point.

I think we all get it, in terms of what theyre doing for the business as a whole, but god do i hate it.

Heres the difference. At the time you could count on one hand the amount of matches Andre lost for his entire career. Cena has had the "torch passing" deal done already by being put over by guys like HHH and HBK.

The problem lies with booking the match to begin with. Its a no-win situation. The Rock wins, and we already saw it before last year. Cena wins, big fucking deal.Hes alreayd "overcame the odds" so many times nobody gives a fuck.

The ONLY way to salvage this match is to have Cena turn heel halfway through it. Preferably revealing him to be the leader of The Shield. Have them help him and have him just go complete bad guy. Hes already going to have 60,000 crazy motherfuckers booing him anyway. Ironically if that did happen the crowd would probably wind up cheering his stale ass.

Mr Fruity Pebbles is not turning Heel ever.

He makes too much in Merch and now the cereal box...

Perhaps they feel, if he goes heel, and they lose money on merch, they don't have a face that can off set the lost money by selling merch.

They want Sheamus to be that guy, but he can't seem to get over the hump. Del Rio face turn was needed. Miz's turn has been lame, he needs to stay heel. And rumor is Ziggler will go face soon, since Jericho is going to eventually become a heel.

Dirtbag

Hogan was never turning heel, ever, either. If Cena wants to/is able to perform in his early to mid 40s there's no fucking way this character is going to last another decade. The merch sales and popularity with the kiddies won't last forever. If he doesn't break down and is forced out there's going to have to be a big change eventually.

Exactly. Vince doesnt have the balls to turn Cena heel, and he never had the balls to turn Hogan heel. Bishoff did it and look at the amount of merch sales that made. I still see fucking nWo shirts around. Nothing great ever came from wrestling that didnt involve taking a risk. Right now Vince just follows his safe bets rather than take a risk that in the long run would be better for the company and business overall.

Please email this to every WWE official email you can find between now and Wrestlemania.

Im still convinced the Steph story is true. Ive never seen a guy that was such a huge star pretty much ignored by the WWE since he left. Even the DVD they did for him had no sit down interviews with him now. I think they just made it because fans wanted it and they saw it as a way to make some quick cash.

I mean seriously Koko B. Ware has gotten more recognition than Savage.

From LOP

Former WWE champion CM Punk appeared on Abe Kanan Show's Sirius XM satellite radio show this week and spoke with 77-year-old Thomas Dotterer, the liquor store robbery victim who was shot in the eye, but said the worst thing that happened all week was Punk losing to The Rock at the Royal Rumble.

Dotterer was talking about the robbery returning to work right after being released from the hospital - when he was surprised by a guest caller, CM Punk.

Dotterer said he’s a wrestling fan going back to the 1940s when he watched Gorgeous George with his father. He said he follows Ring of Honor and TNA Wrestling and appreciates Punk’s success. He said Punk’s hard work and dedication is why he was so upset that The Rock beat him.

Punk then offered Dotterer to be his special guest when WWE is in Syracuse for a live event on March 3.

Well other theories out there is that Savage slapped Vince at some kind of party embarrassing him in front of important people.

And at the time of serious financial downturn, savage stole the lucrative slim Jim account from WWE when he went to WCW.

But then again Steph was a huge whore when she was young, from what I heard so it very well could be true.

Thats why I think its the Steph thing. He left for WCW because Vuince wanted him announcing and thought his wrestling days were over. Piper and Foley did the same thing along with plenty of others and were always welcomed back. Theres also been plenty of true stories of wrestlers hitting Vince, including Bret Hart, again, all forgiven.

The only 3 I can think of that are pretty much blackballed by the WWE is Luger because he left right after a PPV after giving Vince his word he would sign his extension. Jarrett for basically holding the IC belt for ransom when he found out his contract expired the night before the PPV where he dropped it to Chyna. Word is he made Vince pay him an enormous sum of money for one night of work. And the 3rd is Savage, which nobody has ever come forward and said why. If it were anything other than banging Steph I cant see someone from the WWE not just saying it, as theyve said everything about evertyone else.

Well he hated the Attitude Era which was the greatest era in wrestling history so it only makes sense he would like this dogshit. By the way, its amazing how much worse the show is when The Rock isnt on it. The 2 best parts of the show was Jerichos match and Lesnar / Heyman. Sad.

I was just thinking of one other way they can save Wrestlemania. At the next PPV during the championship match (make it no DQ, and bar The Shield), have The Rock hit Punk with a Rock Bottom, then a peoples elbow. When he goes for the pin, the lights go out. Everyone will be expecting the Shield. When the lights come back on....The Undertaker is standing behind The Rock. Undertaker hits him with a tombstone, Punk gets the pin.

Next night on Raw Taker comes out and says hes picked his next Wrestlemania victim, and thats the biggest crossover star in Wrestlemania history and someone thats never faced him at Mania before....The Rock. Then you have Punk / Cena at Mania and go from there.

I hope Sting does his Taker match.. Taker is getting old as hell and has nothing left to prove. I think Sting Vs Taker would work well. Sting works extremely light so Taker wouldn't have to do another "destroy my body to sell a match" style match.. I think it would work well from a pure old school wrestling stand point. Do you realize since The Rock came back Raw has been doing roughly 1 million more viewers then they had before his return? Id say thats a little more then barely been interested.

All I know is, when the rumors started swirling about it last year, there was alot of buzz on the net. Wrestling fans never just go away completely. If people found out Sting was wrestling The Undertaker at Mania, there would be a shit load of people watching it that ordinarily wouldnt have ordered it. The fans of the older eras are there, but they arent going to watch unless they see the people they want to see.

Nobody that gave up on wrestling 5-7 years ago is going to come back to see John Cena. Or CM Punk. Or the Shield or Orton or any of the current "stars". They will however tune in to see The Rock. Or Brock Lesnar. Or Stone Cold. I know guys that hadnt watched Raw in 6 years tune in every week last year before Mania because The Rock was on the show. Once he left they stopped completely until he came back again this year. They dont care about the WWE, they care about watching the stars they want to see.

I think in part pushing the WM streak and having 'Taker wrestle even though its once a year boosts up ratings. The last few years especially wrestling HHH and HBK, the matches were very good.

"Highest ratings in over a year"

Is it the highest ratings since the Rock left? Since Austin left? Since before the W-W-Kiddie era began? No. A few came back, the majority hasn't. If they were pulling watchers away from Monday Night Football maybe it'd be a little impressive... But it's not. There's no football, no competition for their demographic of viewers and yet they're pulling in only the highest ratings since the Rock was around last year... Even after handing him the world title.

When you shit on the people who made you a billion dollar company for nearly a decade it takes a lot more than a handing over of a title reign just to set up a passing of a torch scripted symbolic victory for someone who couldn't even warrant Billy Gunn-esque heat if he had been around during the attitude era.

Everyone else has moved on. Which is what we will all do once again after Wrestlemania if not before... Because we all see the shit that's coming.

I checked out for a few years. Missed the whole Batista run/ the knockoff 4horsemen/ majority of Lesnars run/ Edge carrying the belt.

I put in on about a month before Punks big shoot. And afterwards they had me again. Sadly it hasnt really gone the way i had hoped. I know it was early but when he came back after Cena won and walked to the ring and went face to face with him, that was probably the biggest mark out moment for me since y2j debuted.

Wow. Do yourself a favor and pay the $7.99 a month for WWE Classics. Then watch the history of Monday Night Raw under TV classics, it updates every 2 weeks. Youll have missed a very good year, but youll catch it just in time to see some of the greatest televised wrestling shows ever. Right now they are building up to Royal Rumble 99. Stone Cold hasnt even been on it the last 2 shows and its still 100 times better than Raw now.

I think in part pushing the WM streak and having 'Taker wrestle even though its once a year boosts up ratings. The last few years especially wrestling HHH and HBK, the matches were very good.

I know its questionable that he will wrestle this year. Its not definite, However a decentPunk/'Taker storyline can be done

Im not saying a Punk / Taker match wont draw. I just think if they got Sting alot more people would buy it that normally wouldnt.

Im not sure I get your point. Are you saying its not impressive for one guy to boost Raws ratings by over a million viewers? Thats insane. Of course they arent putting up Attitude Era numbers. at one point in '99 they did an 8.1 Thats twice as much as they pull now and 3 times as much as they were doing before The Rock came back.

Right now there are ALOT of people watching Raw solely because of The Rock. The end of MNF for the year is a bullshit excuse. As well see when The Rock goes back to making movies after mania and the numbers start to plummet again. You cant blame him for that. Its not his fault Vince aint making any new stars. Look at how they blew Punks run. Look at how they are fucking up Zigglers push. For as long as Ive followed wrestling, heard behind the scenes interviews, read books on it, all the advice people gave for running a successful wrestling promotion are being ignored now. They dont even listen to their fanbase. Remember that picture of The Rock they showed a few weeks back with the corny getup and pineapple hair? If he started wrestling during this era with that gimmick hed still have it and he never wouldve become the star he is.

Apparently The Miz botched a Suplex and dropped CM Punk on his head at a house show last night.

The CM Punk injury occurred when Miz lifted him up for a suplex. Miz held him straight up to "let the blood rush to the head," but then when Miz was preparing to drop him onto his back, The Miz lost his balance and dropped Punk head first on to the mat. Medical officials immediately rushed to ringside to check on Punk, who rolled out of the ring. They worked on Punk for several minutes as the match continued in the ring. Punk eventually returned to the match, but was slow moving and did little, as he was clearly shaken up. After the match, officials helped Punk back to the locker room.

Cena can do far better.

RAW was a B. I liked a lot of the in ring action, and Heyman/Punk seem to be setting something up for the future. Punks face was great during the hug.

The Rocks promo was funny but not really relevant to the angle with Punk. He should wrestle at least a few RAWs even if it is squash matches. Still I maintain that the Punk feud is way better then the Cena feud.

Can anyone tell me what the plans for the Shield are? I'm completely lost in this angle and have no idea where it's headed after Sunday.
