Sheamus winning was good for his career. The guys money and they spent the last year lingering him in the mid card.

The Royal Rumble match isnt designed to push guys to main event status. Thats what King of The Ring, Elimination Chamber and TLC is for. If it were meant to elevate a wrestler Stone Cold wouldve never won it 3 times. HHH wouldnt have won it when he did. Same with The Rock. And John Cena.

It did push some guys like Benoit and Mysterio but those guys were both already main event worthy. They just didnt have a shitload of exposure with WWE fans.

Personally, I dont think they should make the Royal Rumble winner be gunning for the Smackdown title. Its a fucking B show. And it makes winning the Rumble less prestigious IMO. If Jericho hadnt come back and was getting ready to feud with Punk, I would have no problem with Seamus winning it and challenging Punk to a match at Mania. I wasnt that surprised. He was my 3rd prediction to win it behind Jericho and Orton.

I'm definitely going for the same reasons. I've never been to WM and they tend to only come around every ten years or so.

Plus it's already been hinted that next years attraction may be SCSA one more match. SCSA's return to the ring would blow apart any shitty match Rock/Cena will have this year simply because Stone Cold never really left the E and if he works with Punk I will be in complete Mark-out City.

Ive been to one. Definitely worth going. That being said, theres no way a Punk / Austin match at this point could be better than Rock / Cena. The Rock looks like hes in better shape now than his WWE prime. Austin can barely move. Dont get me wrong, Id still like to see it happen.

I was talking with someone about going, but I know being its considered a "New York" event, price for great seats are going to be outrageous and watch wrestling from the cheaper seats in a stadium blows.

I blame the scripting of promos. I really believe its one of the biggest flaws in wrestling today. If you ask ANY superstar what they would change about the current product, thats usually the unanimous decision. Ive heard it said from Foley, Roc, Hogan, Flair, Austin, HBK, and more. And those guys are the ones that even now dont have to use a script. Promos need that raw emotion. They need to believe in what they are talking about. And even if an angle is hot, if you have someone writing every word for you, its just not gonna come across as real.

I wouldnt be surprised if Cena went off script tonight. Its probably the best promo hes had in the last 5 years.

Thats part of living in New York. Ive been ringside to a few shows both in Philly and AC and usually paid between $100 - $200 each. Because I waited so long on this one, and its right before Mania with all these big names hyped I wound up dropping $450. The tickets said $183 each but there was a $34 "service charge" per ticket plus $15 delivery. These brokers are fucking criminals.

Only unlike Cena instead of shoving him down the audiences throats (the kids and girls seemed to like the pineapple haircut) they took him back, repackaged him as a heel, and made him earn his way by feuding him with guys like HHH, Ken Shamrock, Farooq until he earned an IC title shot against Austin.

Hey maybe its me. Personally, I feel the entire WWE blows anymore. It does nothing to hold my interest. It doesnt entertain me. As I said many times, if this Mania feud wasnt happening, I wouldve taken my DVR off awhile ago. If you guys like it and the stars they got now, thats cool, thats your opinion.

Mine is simple, the Attitude Era was 100 times better then any other era in wrestling. I dont put today in the same stratosphere. Most of those guys are done now. The Rock is one that isnt. He still entertains me every time out there, even if Cena gets the better of him once in awhile. He can still wrestle like hes in his prime, so when I get a rare chance that hes on TV, Im happy.

On the current roster the only wrestlers that hold my interest at all is Punk and Santino. If the entire roster was changed tomorrow it wouldnt matter to me at all. And its been like that for a long time now. Im not going to forget the last 5 years of dogshit because of 2 good promos.

And I wasnt talking about matches. From stuff Ive read from JR and Mick Foley, its starting to seem that way. I think its more then just from this angle. Its being reported alot of the current roster are pissed The Rock has a main event spot in Mania. Feeling hes taking the spot and payday of a current performer. Thats what Cenas whole "Im fighting for the guys in the back" promo was about. Which is pretty much bullshit. If a guy like Dolph Ziggler could outdraw The Rock hed be in the main event. Legends coming back for a big event is nothing new.

I agree these "guys in the back complaining" should shut thier mouths. The Rock draws, there is no two side to that coin. When he draws, the company draws, and it trickles down. I'm sure back at WM X8 when Hogan/Rock did thier thing there were people complaining about Hogan being out there, but FU he DREW HUGE. In fact it overshadowed the main event.

That being said, there is a a main theme of this whole PPV, and that seems to be "the dying breed" of the Attitude Era. I'm sure they won't all fade away into the void, and will still make appearences, but the current roster needs to up it's game starting April 2nd. I do see some potential there, but it needs to start with Creative. Creative needs to get these guys into believeable pushes and develop the goddamn mid card already so we can SEE character growth.

I loved the Attitude Era as well. I was more of a WCW/nWo Mark myself during that time. I still wish we HAD a Monday Night War and saw guys jumping ship and mixing up the respective companies.

Unfortunetly those days are long gone. I stopped watching back when HHH was eternal World Champion and Eugene was out there running around like it was good.

What got me BACK was seeing a shot at hope with guys like Ziggler, Punk, Barrett, and Rhodes.

I agree with that. As far as the Oregon thing goes, I thought that was one of Cenas best chances to get the cheers and he didnt. Simply because The Rock never wrestled there in his prime. When they come to Philly, Boston, NY etc. the boos to cheers ratio wont even be close.

And let these guys go back to writing their own promos. The difference between a fully scripted promo and hitting bullet points is night and day. And its very noticeable.

Theres no reason the guys you mentioned along with guys like Morrison and Kingston shouldnt be major superstars right now. That being said, Id love to see Austin vs Punk. I think it would be a huge draw and Id like it because to be honest, I dont think theres another current WWE star that could pull off a match with Austin with the condition hes in now.

That being said, there is a a main theme of this whole PPV, and that seems to be "the dying breed" of the Attitude Era. I'm sure they won't all fade away into the void, and will still make appearences, but the current roster needs to up it's game starting April 2nd. I do see some potential there, but it needs to start with Creative. Creative needs to get these guys into believeable pushes and develop the goddamn mid card already so we can SEE character growth.

I also think The Rock wins that Mania match. Hes booked to wrestle Summerslam and next years Mania. This isnt his last match.

Its not about potential. Its about confidence in the WWE. They need to make major changes. Making their product more adult oriented, getting away from the stupid PG angles and what not. This was achieved by having Cena point out that Rock had notes for his promo written on his wrist. Some in WWE claim that Cena pointing this out was unscripted.

I did think something was weird about that. I mean of all the promos theyve had, all the photos and everything, when have you ever seen that done? Im sure it wouldve been pointed out at least by people on the net if that had been done. It just seemed odd.
