does anyone else think they just killed legacy by having the 40 something shane o'mac taking out all three of them with little trouble. and if everyone is old enough to remember mickey rouke has always been his worst enemy since before he quit acting to become a boxer
Hell, remember when they made Kane and Kurt Angle "have trouble" wrestliing Shane they feuded with him years ago. That made no sense to me back then as well.
I thought Orton was gonna give Shane the RKO and Punt. But I guess Shane is "too difficult" to stop.

haha! Remember when Kane was like an "unstoppable monster"? I think he's getting closer and closer to being a member of those "wacky, gimmicky" characters and be in a future "gimmick battle royal".

Oh I agree with ya whole-heartedly! I personally think the WWE must've offered him a ton of money to appear.
But yeah, he could've/should've waited. I mean the Academy Awards is in Feb. and WM25 is in late March (I think!) After the AA, there would've been plenty of time to get involved and promote it. Oh well.

Looks like we'll see Orton vs. Shane at NWO, which I'm fine with as long as it ends with Orton taking Shane out with the soccer kick.
This will lead into Orton/Cena, Orton/Austin, or Orton/Vince at Mania. Probably the first one, but we just saw this match last year in a triple threat so it doesn't really feel fresh.
So, for WM 25, I'm guessing:
Jericho vs. Rourke
HHH vs. Edge
Michaels vs. JBL
Jeff Hardy vs. Matt Hardy
Money In The Bank
I also think we'll see Taker vs. Umaga, since that's been the rumored feud for a while.
Looks ok so far...

yes but he should get the award based on his movie acting. Him doing WWE should have no barring over his chances to win the oscar. two years ago, eddie murphy was a supposed shoe in to win for Dreams Girls. But b/c he made that movie Norbit and it came out before the oscars, he lost and people feel that Norbit was the reason he lost it. Its not right.

Wouldn't the value for Vince be to get Rourke showing up to the event with the affiliation in tact? I imagine the price tag had to be linked to the timing of his signing...

They totally ruined the potential of this HBK/JBL angle. I don't know if it's that Michaels didn't want to do a full heel turn, or just bad planning by WWE.
What they should have done was have Michaels help get JBL the belt at the Rumble, starting the fans against him. Then, between now and Wrestlemania, he keeps doing worse and worse things to help JBL keep the title and the WM Main Event- run-ins, cheating, beatdowns, attacks in the back, etc.- unitl the fans fully turn on him full bore, even though he's still "conflicted." At the same time, Triple H wins the Rumble, and after No Way Out decides to take his title shot against JBL, to get the belt, and to "save" his friend from the evil JBL. In the runup to Mania, Michaels gets frustrated with HHH b/c he "wants to do this himself and doesn't need his help", but is also conflcited b/c he wants to stop doing these awful things.
At Mania, everyone is wondering, but no one really believes that Michaels will turn on HHH. HHH comes to the ring wearing a DX shirt. At the height of the match, it's decision time, and finally, Michaels buries HHH, handing JBL the Main Event win and cementing monster heel status.
The next night on Raw, Michaels receives his big, cash payoff from JBL and is released from his employ. HBK is then attacked by HHH, setting off a four month, two show battle leading up to HBK vs. HHH at SummerSlam.
That's how WWE could have taken a good idea and turned it into an 9-month monster storyline, instead of this half-ass job they're doing now. I just haven't figured out how to turn HBK back again at the end of it. Thoughts?

I was really pulling for Raw. I mean, it was going so well, and then Shane comes in and literally just takes down the top heel in a matter of seconds. What the hell? How can they just let that happen? It's not a travesty or anything it just to me felt like a total halt in the momentum the show had going for it as well as this Orton/McMahon storyline.

Cruel, I love the idea. Only thing I would have changed:
The next night on raw, hbk gets the pay off then super kicks JBL setting off a series of matched between the 3 men and the fans not sure of what to make of HBK. He could have rolled out his family saying that he did it all for them and how he was a victim. Yet, would pummel his best friend.
Also, how do you not have legacy lay out shane and anyone else that dares run down to make a save? Lame.

Thanks for the run down, glad I missed yet another Monday Night RAW!!
On a personal note:
I met Shane at a PPV at the Garden a few years back (It was the Survivor Series with Lesner v. Show), I would just like to say he was a complete dick to me and my friend. When we noticed him we asked to take a picture with him, he blew us off at first then wouldn't even take the picture with us. He stood back like 10 feet and put on a fake smile. My friend took the pic, and I just walked away disgusted. Yeah the fans really matter.

Me and my brothers laughed at that new name to his finisher. I'm wondering when did they decided to change the name. But I'm pretty sure it's because Cena has a lot of young fans, and needs a much "cleaner" image to his character.

Wrestlemania is usually where storylines culminate, and this sounds like the starting of a new one - NWO would make more sense to me.
The story is pretty logical, but I'm not sure I want to see Steph as a full-time manager again, unless it's for HHH. Otherwise, what's the point? Everyone knows they're married.

Michaels and JBl stuff is just awesome. I know there's a bit of a logic hole in the premise but they've done an incredible job with what they've been given.
I think this year has really driven home just how bad the WWE creative is because the only great stories in the WWE over the past few years have involved Michaels and Jericho and they are two of the few who are allowed to write their own stuff and contribute to their programs. And their stuff is always top notch. (obviously so does Trips but you know the score on that one)

Not to defend their creative team, who obviously suck balls...but I honestly don't think the fans will let the WWE turn HBK a heel. Remember the Bastista storyline in which HBK faked injury? That's a classic heel move, yet a crowd loved him for it.

Every week he kept doing worse things, and then he'd do promos shitting on all the fans and their hometowns and the other faces, and every week the fans would cheer "Evil Angle" louder and louder. I agree to an extent, but it's really unrealistic- where was Raw GM Stepahnie McMahon when Edge attacked one of her stars and tried to invade "her show's" match? She would really just sit there and let that unfold without intervening?
At least it explains while the clearly superior EC match opened the show...
I guess they're setting up Orton vs. Edge for Mania. Which would actually be pretty cool, a true Raw vs. Smackdown main event with real implications on the outcome. But then, we'll know Orton will win to bring the title back to Raw. (I guess they could go Orton vs. HHH again, too, bringing the WWE title back to Raw...)
The only other option would seem to be Edge vs. HHH to unify the titles, but I don't think they'd do that.

Retarded yes.. You shouldn't really be surprised though. Vince has always been about earning your way back to the spotlight if you dare leave his company for the competition. If Christian obeys his P's and Q's and continues to be as awesome as he is, I'd expect him on RAW within 6 months. RAW needs someone like him more then Smackdown.

I'm also thinking ECW is a good way to break him back into the much more rough WWE work schedule. Work out his kinks, and get a `WWE' persona worked out and perfected. Better to test shit and fuck up on a product no one watches until you perfect your new(old) gimmick and style.

The only cage match at a Mania was at 2, according to the recent highlights they've been running.

I'm just saying they have broken kayfabe to the point where orton's reckoning is going to be at Wrestlemania. They have to put together SOMETHING where Orton is going to be tortured. Yeah, I see your point. The last Cell was in August- Taker vs. Edge, and they've been averaging about 1 per year. (Didn't know that there were actually 2 HIAC matches on Raw in 98!) I sort of had it in my head that there had been a lot more in recent years.

The announcements for the title matches at Wrestlemania sucked. The WWE Title match has a strong story and a big setup, but they throw it out there, cut to commercial, then come back with no mention that it even happened. Then the World Title announcement was just so out of nowhere with no buildup whatsoever. Besides you cant call yourself Mr. Wrestlemania just for winning your matches when those matches were against guys like Giant Gonzalez, Big Boss Man, Mark Henry, and past their primes Jimmy Snuka, Jake Roberts, King Kong Bundy, etc. Hes had about 4-5 real opponents in his Wrestlemania career.

That overselling of Hogan gives him a special place in my heart for all time.
Honestly though in my opinion hes always been a great worker. And has a history of putting on the match of the show.
Undertaker is the guy I think is completely overrated. I mean, I get that hes athletic for being so big but why am I supposed to be so impressed by a guy walking halfway across the ropes while holding another guys arm? Seriously. Hes been great at reinventing his gimmick but to be honest the guy has barely fucking worked the last 5 years.

Michaels was retired for 5 years...
and the Undertaker has still missed MORE ring time with injuries/vacations.

I also love how every one of Jericho's arguments are 100% true when it comes to some of these people.
Um......like what? That they should be ashamed for wrestling Indy shows or having autograph signings???
Last night he said Snuka and Piper stole 2 spots at last years Royal Rumble from younger competitors that had a shot at furthering their careers. Was that true? LMAO not even a little bit. Id take a couple of old time legends thrown in there over some jobbers that have no chance 10 times out of 10.
Im just not sure where youre coming from.

That sometimes they keep trying to get in the ring and work a match wayyyyyyyyy past when they should have quit. I don't have a problem with doing autograph signings or doing a promo, but when they can barely move around outside of the ring and they try to go out there and do a match, it's just sad to watch.

I guess thats true. But honestly, ever since WCW went under the only time you really see that is in Indy feds. And even if they can barely work a match, its only for those few fans at the VFW or wherever they are. I dont see anything wrong with them making some extra money off a name they killed themselves to make.
I mean, if you go by that logic, Terry Funk wouldve never been in the original ECW, which according to Paul E., was the main ingredient in getting ECW over. At that age he helped wrestling more then he did in his prime because without that there wouldve been no attitude era.
Hogan is the exception in my opinion. Constantly popping up for one big payday while lumbering around on legs and a back that barely move and squashing younger more talented wrestlers in front of millions of people so he can buy his talentless daughter some studio time.

Just finish wacthing Raw. Probably one of the best episodes in a long time. The Orton/Triple H segment remind of the days when Austin went to Brian Pillman's house (Pillman got a gun). Also noteworthy was the big show, edge, and vicki love triangle.

I was reminded of the Pillman/Austin angle, too. Maybe that's what they were going for.

Thats exaclt what they were going for. Its called rerunning an angle hoping nobody remembers the first time they did it. Only when Austin did it it was done better and alot less embarrassing. That segment sucked from beginning to end.
Was it really necessary to use RECORDED SCREAMS???? This fucking no talent couldnt even scream for herself? Ugh. The whole think just stunk.
Oh and one more thing....Koko B. Ware??? Really??? HOF? Sigh.

Apparently there was a script of last week's show that got leaked online and the original plans was for a segment and non-title match to set up the IC Title match, but it all got scrapped because they were running long.

Our seats were incredible, when we sent in our check to buy them you werent guaranteed any specific seats, just a price range. We threw a $5 bill in the enveloped and asked for Section 113, right across from the hard camera...and presto, it worked. Not a bad view huh?....
