Really was pleasantly surprised at how good Sunny looked. Glad to see she got her life together. Now if she can just keep it that way.

Also glad to see that Lita didn't get shit on. Yeah, I know, she deserved it then, but it's time to move on from being pissed about a wrestler's personal life.

To me the biggest shock was definitely RVD. I never expected to see that return.

Really upset though at the lack of the Rock and Bret Hart. I honestly thought Neidhart would make it to the end of the battle royal with Gillberg eliminating him and Bret would come out and put Gillberg in the Sharpshooter.

So, is it really just bad writing or do they not have the talent to pull off the magic they once had? Watching Edge and Christian with their kazoos, Kurt Angle with the little cowboy hat, and the chemistry between Rock and Foley, it was sad to know this show was so hysterical at one point, but they lost it.

Overall, it wasn't a bad show. Much better than the crap they put on every week.

Lita and Trish looked good. They will come back eventually. Its inevitable. But i do wonder if the will re-sign sunny. I mean, sure, she cant wrestle but she be much better then jillian singing. yeesh. I was dissapointed with The Rock as well. I figured he'd come out or do something via satelitte. and i thought austin was gonna bring out Bret when he was saying who really was the best superstar. Woulda made sense. come out,, put vince in a sharpshooter.

I haven't watched alot lately, but it's only because they lost me. I liked the old stuff where they teased shit and made a pay off and knew how to write a storyline(give or take some bad ones) But watching now you don't have any great storylines, I mean how many times can you bring marty jannety back to be the pre-fight hbk gimmick?!

For the people who are maintaining that "Trish and Lita look great" - they've only been out of the WWE for less than a year, haven't they? Trish left at Survivor Series 06, right?

That being said, Trish still works on TV in Canada, so presumably she keeps in shape.

Sunny did look really good. She's obviously older, but you would have never known how big she got by her appearance. I think she looks like a really good looking soccer mom (without the kids).

Stephanie looked amazing. She lost all the baby weight.

RVD's pop was huge. Why did he leave WWE - was it a burnout situation like Jericho or something else?

Personally, I'd love to see a huge program between RVD and Jericho. RVD could come back in his heel "No Respect" persona.

Blackman is 44 years old. WOW. Fallon's right, the dude doesn't age.

I marked for everyone, but here are some questions:

1) I don't think DiBiase was ever a wrestler or a regular prescence on RAW. I think he was well out of the WWE by 93.

2) If the first Raw was on January 11, 1993, why have the 15th anniversary show a month early? I understand that the Armageddon wrapup, the Iraq show and then Best of Raw takes up the next three weeks, but what's going on the first two weeks of January that they couldn't do it then?

3) If Trish was there, she should have come out for the McMahon portrait session. There was a lot more kayfabe heat between Trish and Steph than there ever was between Melina and Steph. Plus, it was Vince's relationship with Trish that led to the classic O&A drops.

3a) I guess Linda was legitimately sick; I was thinking Vince's mention of his wife's illness was a kayfabe setup for something later on in the show.

4) Kevin: Don't blame Hogan entirely for plugging American Gladiators. It's an NBC show, which means that USA was hyping it up as part of corporate synergy. With the writer's strike, there's no place Hogan can really go to plug that'll hit male demographics, so he'll probably be on RAW again soon.

DiBiasie was part of the raw group with IRS that launched the 1-2-3 Kid and Razor Ramon to the top of the card. If you remember there was $10k put up by DiBiasie if the 1-2-3 Kid could win, well he moonsaulted Razor Ramon, then jetted with the money, this caused Million Dollar Man and IRS to beat up on Ramon about losing so at that years summerslam i believe there was a DiBiaise vs. Razor Ramon match and IRS vs. 1-2-3 kid match. After that then they were both pretty much gone

I used to love when DiBiasie would choke someone out put the $100 in their mouth and then IRS would take it back when he wasnt looking

Would he have shown up if he did not have anything to whore plug?? I think, honestly, that the divorce and Nick's legal problems may have a somewhat humbling effect on Hogan. He needs all the "free money" he can get right now, and if Vince asked him to show up to do a 1-night appearance for 20 grand, I'm sure he would have done it.

Looks like this may be the reason behind no Bret Hart last night.

WWE's rocky relationship with Bret Hart has taken yet another bad turn. The two sides had been negotiating an agreement for the publishing rights to Bret Hart's autobiography in the United States. Those negotiations have fallen through and Bret will be shopping the book elsewhere.

According to Dave Meltzer, Bret had a verbal agreement saying that the company would not change one word. When he was given the contract to sign, the terms were completely different than what was previously agreed upon. WWE demanded final say on anything they found objectionable. Bret was told that 400 of the book's 533 pages would need to be changed, which was a deal breaker.

Why would a guy who litterally gave his whole body announce a self centered cry baby as best RAW superstar. If Austin did that i would have lost complete respect for him.

The only Hart that should have been remebered is Owen, he was a bigger part of RAW total then his crying brother.

To be fair, I think Raw is getting better. The return of Jericho has been great and has made Randy Orton better. I really like Hardy getting a push and Kennedy is impressive.

Randy should go back to the Mid-Card where he belongs. Hardy always was a star, it just took them forever to realize it. And Kennedy should be in Ortons spot.

Has anyone brought up how lame the crowd was for the Mankind entrance?

thats because he's always on there anyway. At least it wasn't a dead as the Kennedy/ Jannetty match, my god that was awful.

Overall I think it should have had some more ol school clips. Vince and Austin are tied for #1RAW Star in my eyes, both give/gave so much for 15 years on screen.

Hey guys?

No offense, but I really can't give credibility to a "tribute video" about wrestlers who died, especially when said wrestler 1) TOOK HIS OWN LIFE and 2) DID IT IN THE PROCESS OF KILLING TWO OTHER PEOPLE.

It's like the ROH mutants who say, "Yeah, what Benoit did was wrong but..." No. No buts. He killed two innocent people, one of them a child.

That was actually Perry Saturn there.

Here's an easy formula I use to help me remember who's who:

Pink fluffy hat: Saturn

Chainmail: Steiner

Once you add in Hollywood Hogan & present-day Billy Graham, it's gets pretty confusing, though.

HOLY SHIT!! Jeff is one sick dude. I dont see how he cant win at RR. I mean....he can def carry the title.

if he does win at RR its just to transition to either a new Champ they don't want Orton to put over or to have him lose it the next night at Raw in a rematch.

It was a sick spot. . . i suppose. the medics, refs, and Ricky Steamboat pulling styrofoam off the landing zone made it look very weak. Also by having the landings blocked, we were unable to see if it was a bad bump. . . Hardy had perfect rotation on his Swanton, and from the way it looked so did Orton on the back body drop.

However i do commend WWE for using people who actually looked like medics this time. . . Good work boys.

I believe that swanton was higher than the one he gave to Abyss off the TNA stage. It'll be a good highlight moment, however I don't think it secures him a spot for the WWE title. It will cement his main event status hopefully.

let me take the classic WWF standpoint on Hardy as world champ.

Jeff Hardy as World Champion? He's too small.

with that out of the way, let me address the surprise people comment. There really is no surprising with this as its almost half and half with fans saying who will walk out of RR with the belt. This push is to distract people while they consider who can hold the gold for a while. Sure, i might be wrong. But If Hardy gets the big push, its just until the Draft.

I've gotta agree with that sentiment.

Orton needs a straight win and remember this is Hardy's first "shot" at the big belt. Vince has a long history of making the mobile upper-midcarders earn their way up the ladder.

both valid points, he is due a clean win

but all those times in the Dog House for wellness drinking pills etc, I don't see it either a DQ, or cheating while the ref is down is how it will happen

He is the champ because they are low on Talent, the wellness program and Cena gone has left a void. HHH is a drama queen he wants the strap at Mania. So Orton holds the strap, but never gets a clean win at a PPV, somewhat holding him down

i dont know if anyone has any opinions on cena winning last night, im sure mostly negative... but here is what i would like to see happen...

Cena turns out to be McMahons puppet in the whole situation. Vince didnt want triple H to win the event, obviously, so he brought Cena back to defeat him.
Cena now a heel, which is what he should be w/ the fan reaction he gets...
Triple H is entered into the Elmination Chamber next month and wins.
Beats Orton for the belt..

If Cena loses in some astounding way, they might very well do Jeff Hardy vs. Randy Orton II for the main event at Wrestle Mania, and if they do, they should do title for title and repeat history with Hogan/Warrior.

i think they will determine that when they get the ppv buyrate for the Rumble. And by all indications it should be up over last year considering people were hyped for the Raw championship match

Congrats, page 100. But anyways, my question to Kennedy, is retiring Flair really more important than a WWE title shot? Have you been paying attention to the storyline at all?

That's a pretty cool submission Kennedy had. A guy like him definitely can benefit from having more than one finisher because it can show a versatile side beyond just being awesome on the microphone. By the end of the year he'll be champion at least once.

Chimee
02-04-2008, 05:48 PM
How many finishers does that put him at?

ToddEVF
02-04-2008, 05:50 PM
Spicy, i tend to disagree in the sense that he even though he has the ability and charisma what he lacks is the confidence to do so. That is what is holding him back. When it comes to the big matches, he looks a little sloppy.

So there are going to be 2 Elimination Chamber matches at No Way Out?

SpicyMcHaggis
02-04-2008, 07:13 PM
Yes, and I believe that's a total mistake.

As far as Kennedy goes, that'll be 3 finishers.
- Green Bay Plunge (rolling fireman's carry from second rope or from standing position)
- Mic Check (Reverse STO)
- Inverted Figure Four Leg Lock

Everyone says Kennedy is great on the mic, but I just don't see it. All I've seen his emotions range from is angry to slightly more angry.

I thought Carlito was great on the mic, but he's misused currently, same with Santino. Why isn't he just a manager?!

Who do you guys think the best current talker in the WWE is? I go with Jericho/Orton on RAW (although I hated him, Orton has gotten much better too. He's developed into a very good heel, too bad he'll lose the title to Cena at NWO) and MVP/Edge on Smackdown!

I honestly think they should put a mask on Batista.

Yeah, I hear ya. The positive things I said about Orton above don't come out with Cena. Cena drags people down both in the ring and on the mic. He's marketable, but terrible for people that watch wrestling as an adult soap opera and want to see some amazing athleticism. His character is lame and he's average at best in the ring.

I can't even believe you put Orton in the same sentence as jericho. Orton is not even a paper champion, he's fucking cardboard. His mic skills: Cardboard Ring Skills: Cardboard.

I get MAD at Orton for being so bad. Its like all he thinks being a heel is is fucking nasty looks and talking like a tough guy. Should have never been given this long of a title reign, but when your lips are on HHH's ass all the time I guess they throw you a bone.

For examples just watch his whole bit with Matt Hardy a few weeks back "And now I' gonna kick him in the head". It gave my douche chills. Heavens no don't kick me in the head......cause every other wrestlers done that to me in the ring for years.......but now I'll be out of action because of it.

Kick to the head, chinlock, RKO. Thats an Orton match.

In fairness to him as a human being, not Randy the Wrestler, someone wrote that piss/ approved it/ and let it on national TV.

LOL, ich Someone someone should have kicked him where his talent used to be.
