did you go to your high school prom? did someone ask you to the prom or was it the other way around? did you have fun or was it a total bore?
i never went to my high school prom. instead i went to a party my nerdy friend put on. we stayed up all night talking about science fiction movies like "invasion of the body snatchers" and we played spin the bottle. well, they played spin the bottle, i didn't.
i don't regret not going to my high school prom.
correction: i meant to put this in off topic.

I went to my prom. I went alone. I didn't even go in a limo I drove myself. I didn't wear a tux, I bought a suit. I figured I'd get more milage out of a new suit (and I actually like wearing suits) than I would out of a rented tux.
The only reason was to go to the after party which enabled me to spend a night in the Hamptons for $20, free booze, free pot and the closest I've come to a relationship with a girl I've ever been near.
The prom itself sucked. If my prom is any indication you didn't miss anything.

In my high school, only the prisses and the guidos went to the prom. I sat in the local park drinking 40's and smoking weed like any other night.

for the record i am not a pris or guido and I am definitely not the type of person people expected to go to the prom. Actually it was kind of a last second, 'spontaneous', so unlike me thing to go to the actual event. I never even had any want to go until senior year.

I went to the Prom... did the whole job: LIMO, TUX, Stayed out in the Hamptons for the weekend... it was a blast!!!!
We all met at my buddy's house with all our Parents there and everyone got liquored up! After we left all of our parents stayed and drank together all night.
Prom itself was a bore, but all the girls seemed to like dancing and shit.
Weekend away out on the Island was the best. BBQ's, water sking, and non-stop drinking.
I didn't get "prom sex" however, which was a disappointment. But hey, you can't get everything you want.

I had a blast at my senior prom...I didn't want to go but CircusBoy convinced me to go and somehow became my date for it. He even picked out my dress and shoes...For a straight guy he sure does have a keen sense of fashion, makes you wonder about him :) I think it was so much fun cause we didn't go as a 'couple' with all the hangups and just danced all night and made fun of everyone else.

I was a total outcast in high school but I went to my junior prom, and my boyfriends senior prom. I had the best outfit - White vinyl short dress, humongus white feather boa that i had to RENT (this was back in like 94), white fishnets, white platform shoes, silver hair - I was badass! I don't remember the senior prom very well - except that someone in our limo made the driver stop in the bronx for weed.

I HATED my High School, and did NOT go to the prom. After that, I think my class FINALLY got the hint that I didn't like them, and left me alone. There was a girl who I heard wanted me to ask her, but I would NOT have had a good time with people I disliked all night.
And so far, I have no regrets. I like to think things through before I do them, and I thought long and hard about that. My descison was a good one, and I didn't do anything else exciting that night.

I went to my prom - I
mentioned this before
somewhere - the night the
Rangers won the cup. I wasn't
going to go, but a little
while before I had started
dating this guy who I'd been
lusting over all through high
school.
He went to Fieldston, and I'd
see him at all the track
meets... as it turned out his
best friend was my best
friend's bf and somehow when I
got mentioned in conversation
he was all hey, I want to meet
her!
So I got his ## from my best
friend (who got it from her
bf) and I called him and we
started going out...
So my prom was dinner, listen
to the game, and then head out
to a big house in NJ where I
had sex with my bf (first time
for both of us, awwww). I
don't regret it even one eensy
bit.
AND I didn't drink at all, and
the closest I came to drugs
was the box of sugar cubes
that we ate. what a goof
little girl I was!

everything about the prom itself sucked. I also went because I had this want for some Carrie-esque event to go and see how I'd react in such a scenerio.

I don't regret not going at all. I wasn't going to get laid anyway.
I just hated my selfish, cliuqish classmates to death not even to care.
I went to see "Road Trip" (released in may 2000) with my best friend and brother instead. :)

My prom was pretty much non-monumental. I didn't drink or do drugs back then, so it was pretty boring. I had to listen to my sister's date whine to me all night about how in love with her he was, even though she only used him to go to our prom with some of her other friends that were invited.
The highlight was getting some in the limo on the ride home
