this year should be fun. I'm going up to my mom's in Wappinger's Falls. The drive stinks, but hey, at least I can do laundry for free there. I'll be partaking in wine and poker with my sisters, bro in law and step father. Later on when I've sobered up, I'll be taking my brother to see Harry Potter.

Not going to my parents' house or my wife's parents' house for the first time, and having Thanksgiving dinner in NYC with my sister-in-law and her husband.  It just seemed like a nightmare trying to get a 4 year old and a newborn down to Maryland in Thanksgiving traffic.

Going to a friend's house waaaay out of state - really looking forward to this long weekend. Last year I spent 23 hours in the Chicago airport trying to get into Wichita - pretty bad Thanksgiving. I am going to see the folks at Christmas time, and this last October when I was out for my birthday Moms made an early Thanksgiving dinner for me, to go with the cake. Mmmm! MMM!!

I'd rather have hope in my soul than soap in my hole...

We are going to my brother's house again.  For years we would catch part of the parade and head to Jersey for the big meal.  Now I'm kinda wishing we could do it at our new (3yrs old) suburban digs so we don't have to travel for once.  I have a big family and our tiny NYC apartment was never adequate to host any big family gatherings. Now, after all these years, its just become habit that we are always the ones traveling to them.  The rest of my family all live within ten min of each other so, although I wish I could have them all to our house, I feel really guilty asking everyone to travel on a holiday.  Next year I'm playing sick and just hanging home.

German side of the family). I still dont have directions, and just
might forget to get them. The last time I went to one of her relatives
(2 thanksgivings ago) they were serving macaroni and cheese and
reheated canned ham. I wanted to fuckin kill somebody. I think thats
why the Germans started WW1 and WW2. They were desperate for a decent
meal.

I'll be on the road at 6 AM Thanksgiving morning heading up to my parents' house in Vermont. The 5 & 1/2 hour drive is a bit of a drag, but it'll be good to see the family again, especially my niece and nephews.

I'm just wondering if I'll keep the streak alive of running into a snowstorm somewhere along the way.

Like a good Italian daughter, i will be barefoot in the kitchen of my parents new home....cooking.  And just like every year since i turned 18, i will be questioned of who i am dating, when am i getting married, why won't i settle down, will i ever have children.........THEN they will proceed to lecture me about the amount of tattoos i have, how they are embarrassing and how no one will ever want to marry because of them......THEN the bonus i have this year is i graduate college in 2 weeks, so i'm sure i'll get crap for not doing the whole cap and gown ordeal.The sad thing about this year, is since i have to drive 2 hours to see them, if i choose to get toasted off the wine to mute them out, i won't be able to drive home to sweet sweet silence.....

Since I am in the future I have already had my dinner with a friend who invited me to share it with his family. A nice group of people, and if that pedo hadn't touched that Jap girl back in July, I would still be sharing beers with him and his fam. Instead I am back on base due to a curfew. All in all it really wasn't bad for my second thanksgiving I have not spent with my family or homeland friends. All hopped on the percocets now cause that is what the doc here gave me and all chill listening to 'Lucy' on XM. Ok now that I have been a buzzkill a bit here goes my upper; Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!
