I don't mean to suggest that the people who have been exposed to Anthrax so far are not important, and I wish them a full recovery, but there is good news from this.

Whoever is sending Anthrax so far has been targeting media outlets, unless anyone believes that these events are all coincidental. It seems reasonable that they are targeting the media in order to ensure good news coverage, and anyone could guess that the news coverage would cause a panic.

So the good news is that if these a&#holes have access to Anthrax spores, they don't seem to have access to a delivery system actually capable of getting at lots of people, so they've been forced to take a more indirect route to acheive their objective.

That's a good sign, isn't it? I'd rather know that they were trying to mail this stuff to specific people and not releasing it into the drinking water or dumping it on us from crop dusters.

Sleep well.

I'm not saying it doesn't suck, but only that it sucks less than worrying about a sophisticated delivery system.

In the meantime, I'm forwarding all my fan mail to Willie Ames just to be safe.

I rule.

I have been wondering about the delivery system they might have......I wondered if the Anthrax was originally meant to be delivered by those crop dusters.

BUT - If they do use that crap and we are sure that they are terrorist - I ensure you the WAR will reach a whole new level.

We are kicking ass now - if they actually used that crap -the type of bomb might just change...hehe.....just my opinion

I'm going to have to disagree with you, Scott. It's bad news, no matter how you slice it.

Just because they haven't found a means of mass dispersal (and we're not even sure about if they have or not) doesn't mean they won't keep trying. All it takes is one plane when nobody's looking...

The fact that they even have it in spore form scares me. That means they have access to millions of dollars in lab equipment and specialists well versed in weapons of mass destruction.

Thank you for the point but I don't think I'll be sleeping any better because of it.

Jeff; having the spores doesn't mean that they created them. It would have been much easier and cheaper to steal them from us, and consistant with the tactics used against the WTC and pentagon.

It takes many thousands of times of more spores per person to infect people in a crowd, and the number of spores required escalates exponentially when the deploying device is more than a few feet away.

The government has a course for how to respond to an Anthrax threat in a mail center.. costs about $25:

The officials added that letters containing anthrax-laced powder and sent to NBC "Nightly News" anchor Tom Brokaw in New York and to Daschle at the Capitol urged the use of medicine or alerted the recipients to the presence of the poison - something deemed unlikely for a terrorist seeking mass casualties.
