The National Football League would like to have a team back in Los Angeles by 2008, Commissioner Paul Tagliabue said.
So what do you think about this. I say, they lost the rams and the raiders, theu don't deserve another team so soon. But if they do get a team, should it be an expansion or a relocated?

Utah kept the "Jazz", even though that town is so white they think Donnie and Marie are cool.

LA Saints. Fuck it. Leave the name. They're gonna need it when the move again in 5 years.

They are going to HAVE to have a stadium deal in place before the NFL moves a team there....

The NFL has reiterated many many many many many times they will NEVER put a team in the Coliseum again...the place is a dump...and the Rose Bowl isn't much better (one road in for 100,000 people, one road out for 100,000 people)

I can see them putting a team in the Coliseum for a year while they are building a new stadium, but on a permanent basis? No dice...And will the voters of California be all that jazzed up about building a new stadium with their tax money?

And plus, the NFL will probably have their pants sued off by my boy, the General, Al Davis....he probably won't win, but he'll tie them up in litigation forever...

Why does it have to be Los Angeles? Smaller markets like San Antonio and Oklahoma City would KILL for a team and would support them by selling out the arena every game. Its been proven that the pinheads in LA really dont support their Football teams. Of course you have fans out there, many hardcore, but enough with LA. How many chances are you going to give them. Put a team somewhere in a decent sized city in America where they don't have a single professional sports team and I guarantee that they'll do well. I'm tired of hearing that we have to have a team in LA because no one is giving a better reason other than "there should be a team in LA" even though no one in LA seems to really give a shit about anything other than the Lakers and whoever may be winning in LA at the time.

The only thing LA deserves is an earthquake of biblical proportion.

agree with every word. But it just bugs the NFL that they dont have a
team in LA. Its not true anymore, but there was a time in this country
when NY, LA, and Chicago were about 1/3 of the TV market. And it drives
them nuts that a league as successful as the NFL doesn't have a
franchise there.

But LA is a Basketball and Baseball town.
Football is too rough for them. A franchise would do better in another
market. With all the gambling surrounding Football, I'd put one in Las
Vegas. But they try to stay at arms legnth from that stuff, for good
reason.

The Los Angeles Saints of San Antonio, Texas

HAHA that's a good one....well the NFL wants to go back to LA because it's the second biggest TV market, which means that they could make more money. I think that the Saints will end up in LA because Benson sees dollar signs and so does the NFL. However, I do think that LA is a football team, but if you can get the taxpayers to pay for a new stadium, bringing football back to LA will work, even though in my opinion, LA is a basketball city, but I may be wrong.

If it weren't for the fact that California already has 3 teams, I would say sure. Why the hell do they need a 4th team when there are other states that have none?

I was there one year after both teams left town, and the apathy for the NFL was really everywhere - they flat out didn't give a shit. People who want to get up at 10 a.m. to watch a game Sunday morning, will, or if they want to root for a team they'll watch the Chargers. Otherwise, they were just grooving on being Los Angeles - the center for all of American culture. Who knows, tho - things may have changed in 10 years - and it is kind of insane to think that the most popular professional sport in America isn't played in the second largest city - there has to be enough fans out there to merit a solid core fan base - I just wonder about the stadium issues...
I'd rather have hope in my soul than soap in my hole...
