So anyone remember the old shows that used to be on Nickelodeon? Not sure of your ages, but I remember watching GREAT shows on there like:

1.You Can't Do That on Television
2.Out of Control
3.Mr. Wizard
4.Double Dare
5.Danger Mouse
6.Salute Your Shorts

And Hey Dude SUCKED, but I admit that I watched that too. Any that I missed??

Wild n Crazy kids was great and all those you mentioned especially Salute your shorts that show was awesome!...............

Who's got a little text under his name?I do! :-)

I used to watch those shows. You Can't Do that on Television was actually pretty cool and for you Alanis fans....

I remember Out of Control, didn't that star the guy from Full House who doesn't have a show this season?

Double Dare was great. Danger Mouse rocked.

I always watched Salute Your Shorts and Hey Dude. The chick from Hey Dude (evne though the show sucked) ended up marrying Ben Stiller and one of the girls from Salute Your Shorts ended up killing a kid. I remember Pinkus, Ug, etc.

Another show not mentioned but in the motif of tonight's show- Nick Arcade which wasn't that good b ut was out there.

There were only two other good shows- the groundbreaking Ren and Stimpy and the hysterical Rocko's Modern Life.

We run we jump we sing and play
we row and go on trips

I absolutely LOVE Salute Your Shorts and Hey Dude. What was bettter than bobby budnick's mullet?

How can you guys forget count Duckula?

Do you all remember sports cartoons? It was these really short cartoons between shows with 2 cats, a dog and a hippo all playing sports (wierd sports like airbalooning and kerling). The cats always tried to beat the hippo by cheating and the dog was always the referee. It was good stuff.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! OH MAN! THE HIPPO SPORTS SHIT! AAAAAAAAAAAAAA HAHAHAHAHA!!!!! And Duckula! OH MAN! SO glad I brought this up!

And Ikeaboy, was Nick Arcade that HORRIBLE show where you'd have to play a video game on pause for points, then play those shitty games on the blue screen to win? It was a quiz show, but the games would be the challenges, right? And the final games, you'd see the kids watching themselves on monitors off stage to line themselves up with shit in the game. Am i right?

And did ANYONE go to Nick Studios down in Florida? I did. It was gay. I did a physical challenge, and got a nose bleed pushing an orange with my nose.

OH YEA! And Clarissa Explains it All! Why did I watch Nick?!?!?!?!

Nick was hot back in the day. Moe, thanks for bringing this up. I love the various resurrections of Double Dare, Roundhouse, Dave Coulier's Out of Control, Salute Your Shorts, Hey Dude with Christine Taylor, You Can't Do That on TV with Alanis Morsette *probably spelled it wrong*, Alex Mack with Larisa Oleynik, Clarissa Explains It All with Melisa Joan Hart, Secrets of the Hidden Temple and Wild and Crazy Kids for the hot red-headed girl, I always waited for some type of water game to see her wet, he he,

IkeaBoy, you are talking about Pinkski, that is probably how Salute Your Shorts got jumped by the shark. I loved Donkey Lips and Deena. He He He! Where's Zee-Zee Zip when you want to hear a happy, earth-lovin song when you need her?!?

OK, here's an obscure one.

Now remember that Kevin Kubecheski kid on You Can't Do That on Television?(last name sounded out to the best of my ability) He was "hot" during that time, and I remember seeing some sort of Alien TV movie that he did on NICK. I guess it was more Canadian TV crap. All I remember is seeing him being transported up to a shitty looking UFO with the CHEESIEST of 80's Special Defects. Anyone with me, or am I out of luck? Any movie names, or at least confirmation that I'm not insane?

<i>"And did ANYONE go to Nick Studios down in Florida? I did. It was gay. I did a physical challenge, and got a nose bleed pushing an orange with my nose."</i>

i waited in line for like five hours to get into a taping of a nick show.

i would sometimes get to watch double dare, guts, hey dude, clarissa explains it all, wild and crazy kids (which sucked), legends of the hidden temple, are you afraid of the dark?, etc...

i used to have the biggest crush on moira quirk, the referee on "guts." she had the sexiest voice.

does anyone remember the shows on the disney channel? ready or not, the babysitters club, that show about the big family who was poor but then went to live with the rich family, etc...???

Welcome Freshman was cool the first season with Merv when it was just a bunch of bits revolving around kids sitting in a small area with a tree and a loose plot that was inconsequential to anything.

Second season it became a conventional show, lost Merv and one of the broads and totally sucked ass.

and what about pete and pete a great show that got killed by Nick's logic that every 3 or 4 years theres new kids so they feel they dont have to make new episods and then just repeat them

Snick used to be the thing to watch on saturdays then it all went down hill when All that came along

theres a channel that nick puts out with CTW (childrens telivison workshop)
and its called noggin it play some of the old nick stuff and alot of the 80s PBS shows like 321 contact and the eltric factory

and i cant belive your saying hey dude sucked

SINGING yippie yi ci AY like the cowboys say

and ARE YOU AFRIAD OF THE DARKK even though they were alwasy happy ending i was allways scared like hell

That's what I've been saying all these years. What a horrible fucking show. I hope all those children died of Leukemia.

That show marked the downfall of "Are You Afraid of the Dark?", that show started sucking as soon as All That came on.

Did anyone else feel bad for David the Gnome? Having to go to bed with that gigantic beast of a wife of his? I'd rather fuck that fuck.

Trolls and Wizards and Fairy Kings,
Birds that talk and fish that sing,
And if your heart is true..
Then you will find them too...
In every wish and dream and haaaaappppppyyyy hoooomeee...
You will find the Kingdom of...THE GNOME!

Sorry, had to.

Hey Dude was alright until they changed the main character. Kids' shows are notorious for changing characters on a whim. Ghostwriter, Saved By the Bell, California Dreams.

Danger Mouse fucking rocked. Same goes with Count Duckula. I'll spare you those theme songs.

As for Mark Summers' grip on Nickelodeon, he was a beautiful man. I just have one problem:

The Fucking Pie Coaster.

What a piece of shit. A car on a 10 foot track drives the passenger into a pie. What a waste of a budget.

Give me the Pie Car Wash or the Pie Machine anyday.

talk about the downfall of nick shows.how bout that "what's my line" rip-off where nick show celebs (like mark weiner)were on the panel.they had to sit there and try to throw witty quips at 10 year olds from arkansas who's talent was making some kind of useless invention out of pig dung.the reward for traveling to orlando fla. and lasting through all the failed quesses?a prop from the defunct nick game show "the secrets of the hidden temple".usually a styrofoam rock.it made double dare look like"championship week jeopardy".

Nick used to rock. You Can't Do That On Television ("What do you think's in the burgers?"), Are You Afraid of the Dark, David the Gnome (I was sad when David "died" in the end of the series), Today's Special (which I remember watching when I was like, 4, and getting freaked out when the guy turned into a mannequin once his hat was removed), and, the best of them all, DANGER MOUSE!!!

Speaking of All That, isn't that the show we have to thank for the wonderful "Good Burger" movie?

I never had nickelodeon as a child. When I was growing up we were out of reach of real cable, sattelite was the big k-band and was only for the uber rich.

We had 7 channels... 2,7,10,22,44,66 and 67 on the set top box, there was WDIV from Detroit and a bunch of crappy Canadian channels.

From what I hear, I really missed out.

9. Eureka's Castle (I think this was on Nick, but it may have been Disney)

I barely remember Welcome Freshmen. Everytime Merv got pantsed he was always wearing boxer shorts with his name printed all over them. Pete and Pete is the best thing that ever happened to kids TV because of the episodes with Steve Buschemi as Ellen's Dad and Iggy Pop as somebody else's Dad,

Iggy Pop was Nona's Dad

For me (in no particular order):

1. Pete and Pete
2. Salute Your Shorts
3. Ren & Stimpy
4. Doug - this show was on-and-off for me.
5. Rocko's Mordern Life
6. GUTS
7. Legends of the Hidden Temple
8. Wild N' Crazy Kids
9. Eureka's Castle (I think this was on Nick, but it may have been Disney)

YAY television

i loved Ren & Stimpy: Log, Christmas Yak, "Happy Happy, Joy Joy" . . . .just classics!

i had a major hard on for Clarissa, and hated that her next door neighbor would randomly show up in her bedroom.

Eureka's Castle was on Nick and i was OBSESSED with that show.
basically, i watched everything on your list.

Does anyone remember:
1. Weinerville
2. Get the Picture
3. Nick News with Linda Ellerbee (i used the think i was an adult watching this)
4. Nick Arcacde (i used to dream about being on this show)
5. Secret World of Alex Mack
6. Finders Keepers
7. Hey Dude
8. The Mystery Files of Shelby Woo
9. All That

I just now remembered another early Nick show it was about a manequin that turn to life after the dept store closed. The manequin & another girl are the only real people in the show...all the others are puppets & there was a mouse. Anybody remember this? Also Keenan & Kel is a very funny show, you can watch the reruns on THE N

1. Double Dare
2. Double Dare 2000
3. GUTS
4. Legends of the Hidden Temple
5. Wild and Crazy Kids (ROCKED)
6. Nick Arcade

and a bunch others i can't remember....but I watch that channel all the time.

Also had a crush on Alex Mack...when she was in 10 Things I Hate About You, I creamed my jeans a few times....she was so friggin hot and talking about sex, forget about it.

Miss Rocko's Modern Life.....that show was the best.

Can't believe I forgot about Pete and Pete.....remember when the older Pete was in 40 Days and 40 Nights?

My cable company is dropping Nick GAS on December 31st. I wonder if the station is going under or if my cable company is just being cheap.
The programming is a bit repetitive, so I can see that channel not lasting.
