all in all not a bad sequel but what was good about the first one was the showed a few of the different victims and situations that they were put in to try to survive.

This one seemed to focus more on mind games but it was still better then most of the horror movies that have come out this year.

the following isn't really a spoiler but I will put in white text just in case

with the exception of the opening sequence where we see a guy who has a choice to make in order to survive we only see the group of people that are trapped in the house and have to find a way out. There wasn't any real extreme situations or contraptions put on people as in the first one, but being trapped in a house while all along breathing in a deadly nerve agent is extreme.

some of the ways they died weren't all that imaginative at least in the way previous victims died in the first one.

about halfway through I figured out the twist ending and the movie ends in the current typical horror movie fashion... a twist ending complete with an unfinished ending allowing yet another sequel

I really liked SAW so I'll probably see 2. Not sure if it's worth going to see in the theater but I'll probably rent it.

I saw it last night.

I'm upset that this sequel took what was so good about the first one...did the opposite.

The first one focused (almost completely) on that one room and the dilemma of the two characters. Sure, it did cut away to the Doctors wife and kid a few times. And yes, it also cut away to the police plotline but...for the most part, the movie was in a single setting. Maybe 80% of it took place in that crappy dungeon. That was unique. It was supposed to make the viewer feel trapped too.

In this sequel, we are cutting away to everyones backstory and plotlines AND the house has 100 rooms. They just kept on walking into yet another room. It just didn't have the same claustrophic vibe.

As usual, I'm going to say that there are 100 plotholes and that the ending doesn't hold up under any scrutiny. This is strictly a rent-&-watch-once-and-be-done-with-it-movie.

I'm really excited about this sequel. I'm adding this to my list of bootlegs to buy. I need Jarhead and History Of Violence too. I just need another 6 hours of free time. JEEZE! I can hardly listen to R&F let alone have time for movies anymore.

Great year for movies though!!!

it's not necessary to have seen the 1st one to see the second but the first one kinda explains why this person started doing his work as he calls it, they further explain it in the second.

***Spoilers ahead...youve been warned....

Ive been
looking forward to this for some time. Finally saw it, liked it, I dont
think it was as good as the first one. I hated the whole thing with
Johnny Zero, it was only there to create suspense for a movie that
couldnt muster up enough without it. There was too many actors in the
house, it got kinda tedious watching all of them die. Overall though it
was pretty good, the ending was pretty cool, obvious (the whole thing
with the chick somehow being in on it anyway), but cool anyway. Now Im
looking forward to seeing Saw Tres...

Agreed. There were far too many people in that house. The director was definitely trying to cash in on the Reality Show thing. Put a bunch of strangers in a house...all with different personalities...one by one they get "eliminated". Zzzz.
