I used to wear contact lenses b/c I like the look of not wearing glasses but the discomfort of putting them in and-sometimes-wearing them got to me after a while. I saw in Esquire magazine that Nike has new contacts for athletes for sale at nikevision.com and got to thinking that maybe contacts have become significantly better in the past couple of years and should try them again.

What kinds are the best? What have you found by trying different kinds? Thanks.

I wear Accuvue one a day and I love them. I don't wear them
all the time, mostly for snowboarding and when I want to wear
sunglasses, but I have no complaints.

This doctor I went to tried
to push Ciba one a day's on me (annoyingly push I might add, I think he
was getting a serious kick back) I tried them for about 5 days and each
time I couldn't get them out.
It's gonna be BAM, I crush his little skull and I sit down and smoke a cigar for another 55 seconds. The next kid comes in, BAM I put my cigar out on him. I laugh and point at the other kids "Who's next chubby?"

I have a bad astigmatism and always had problems putting them in. I used vertex toric.

I say used, because 3 weeks ago I was putting a contact in my eye and it flipped around a bit, and I opened my eye and couldn't see out of that eye. I spent about an hour trying to remove it from my eye and it would not come out.

Drove myself to the ER half blind and they extracted my contact and I still couldn't see. The fucker scratched my cornea all the way across my eye. I was blind in that eye for 2 days, had to wear an eyepatch and keep BOTH of my eyes closed for a whole day, and had to put drops in 8x a day for a week. Looking into lasik now.

yes, my vision came back fine, the eye heals pretty quickly. But the 2 days afterwards were hell. I had to keep both eyes closed for 24 hours, which was the worst. Apparently you have to keep both eyes closed otherwise the injured eye will keep trying to open itself. The first 48 hours I had to wake up to make sure drops were in my eyes every 3 hours.

It basically felt like a had a jagged piece of glass in my eye for a few days. I will not be using contacts again after that. I'm borderline for Lasik so I'm going to look into that.

Sometimes the fucking contact lense got stuck behind my eye. I thought I dropped the thing in the floor while putting it but it just got into eye cavities. That was so fucking disgusting. I would blink it out a couple of hours later ...
