DSL out at work, very boring.

<p>Verizon fucked something up trying to give our company a static IP address and I've been without the internet for 2 days.&nbsp; </p><p>You can't do a desk job in this day and age without internet access.&nbsp; It's just not an option.&nbsp; I'm on the phone 3 times as much, getting half as much done.&nbsp; I have internet databases and our own personaly server where we have info on customer and our inventory that I check all day.&nbsp; Can't do any of that now.&nbsp; Plus I can't just surf by this site, check my mail or even just browse Amazon in between fires I gotta put out in the parts department.</p><p>A side note on this complaint is I never realize how big a part the internet has become in my life until I didn't have it for so long there.&nbsp; It's gone out before but I was either way too busy doing other things or it got fixed quick enough where I didn't notice.&nbsp; The RV season is coming to a close and we're slow.&nbsp; So it makes the time drag even slower.</p><p>So Verizon sucks and I'm fucked again tomorrow.&nbsp; THank you for your time.</p>

<p>Update, seems only for myself...</p><p>This is day 4 of no internet.&nbsp; Verizon are a bunch of fucking assholes.&nbsp; They haven't sent ANYONE out, and all they seem to do is open an investigation ticket everyday when we call that gets closed for some reason everynight without resolving our problem.</p><p>I'm so fucking bored at work it's not even funny.&nbsp; We all talk and joke around, but we can't all sit there joking around all day.&nbsp; When everyone goes back to work, I'm sitting there with next to nothing to do because all my work is through E-mails and online databases.</p><p>So lame.</p>

<p>If I had the choice, sure.&nbsp; We could really use the speed of cable at work.&nbsp; We have about 5 computers on one DSL business line.&nbsp; I mean I can't say we're that slow, but I don't think we'd ever see a problem if we had cable.</p><p>I better see a fucking truck with a bucket outside the building when I pull up tomorrow.</p>

you can not use Cable because they do not offer static IP;s at this time. the only other option is a T1, which they gaurentee uptime.

I laugh and point at the other kids &quot;Who's next chubby?&quot; <p>Well my boss won't pay for a T1, I know that.&nbsp; And at this point I don't know if the static IP is really much of an option.&nbsp; Going into day 5 of the business being disrupted, maybe it's time to put things back the way they were.&nbsp; SO what we can't get on a network with the other building?&nbsp; We worked out just fine before trying to get that.&nbsp; I just want to do my job again.&nbsp; </p><p>Much as O&amp;A a said to their critics who kept saying shit like &quot;Must have been nice to get paid to do nothing&quot;, it really does suck to do NOTHING all fucking day.&nbsp; I'm not doing NOTHING, but I'm severely limited to what I can do.&nbsp; Plus the internet was a nice distraction in those few moments between doing things.&nbsp; Checking the news is what's killing me more than anything.&nbsp; I can't really start posting in the middle of the day, it takes to long.&nbsp; But checking news is quick, and no one would get mad at me for doing that.</p>
