do you think being domestic (taking good care of your home, cleaning, making dinner) is depressing? does it make you feel good to spend a few good hours in the kitchen making a nice meal that others will appreciate? do you find happiness in doing housework? or do you find it stressful and boring?

i don't think "women's work" is appreciated and valued as much as it should be. it's really unfortunate because raising children and running a household takes a lot of hard work.

i personanlly find cleaning to be very therapeutic. i love to clean. i'll clean your whole house if you wanted me to, you don't even have to pay me.

if i had the ability to cook, i'd cook for everyone.

housework is not stupid work. it all requires skill and patience.

That is one of the most enlightening posts on the subject... I like to cook better than clean. When I do, I crank up the tunes and carry my radio around with me from room to room. I also like to clean late at night. Is that weird?

I'll cook and cook and cook some more... but I'm not a good baker.

A whole bunch of bunchies!

I can't bake either. Rather, I
can't bake cakes - I have yet
to have one come out well.
Well... angelfood cake is
easy, but besides that I
mean...

But I love making breads and
cookies and junk!

I don't mind cooking or cleaning. Only problem is, my apartment doesn't have a kitchen, including a stove, so I'm limited as to what I can make in my microwave :(

I actually enjoy cleaning...I think that is cause I can't cook...Kraft mac and cheese is the extent of my stove-using activities.

I am fairly domestic, or at least I aspire to be. I'm learning to cook, although I'm not all that great. I hate cleaning, but I like cleanliness. I can't stand disorder... a cluttered house clutters the mind and I'd rather just clean the shit up and be done with it, rather than be lazy and have to step over pizza boxes on my way out.

I clean PanterA's house all the time (by choice, of course) and I've come to the conclusion that it's futile. When I'm there, I do his laundry, fold his clothes, change the garbage, wash the dishes, etc. I even change his cat's litter. He refuses to do it cause it's "icky". I go back there 3 days later and it looks like a pig sty that's been hit by a tornado. Pointless.
