View Full Version : Ron and the "F" Bomb

Anyone else feel Ron is going a little heavy on the "F" bomb recently? Sometimes he's using it 2X in one sentence! I don't mind it once in a while but its getting excessive. Fez hardly does it at all. Somebody should keep a count. I think the people on XM feel they are required to curse. My 8 year old daughter was in the room while I was listening to one of the music stations. I thought it would be OK because it was just music. The song ends and the DJ says "I LOVE THAT FUCKING SONG!" ...

I find it funny that the O&A show is safer to listen to around kids than the Ron and Fez show, usually.

Ron is using the word "Fuck" more than Fez, Opie, Anthony and Jimmy. But it's only been about a month so I wouldn't assume this is how he's always going to be at XM.

Was that music station an XL channel? There are only about 5 music channels that are XM, were you listening to Raw, Rhyme, Fungus, Squizz or the Bone Yard?

I love when Ron uses the F Word. It's so natural for him.

It's gonna be BAM, I crush his little skull and I sit down and smoke a cigar for another 55 seconds. The next kid comes in, BAM I put my cigar out on him. I laugh and point at the other kids "Who's next chubby?"

Never forget that Ron was a CLUB OWNER at one time, which effects you
like war-time,and hardens you to the inhumanity of man against man,man
against booze, man against himself.Let me show you what it's
like....PACK your family now and move to Wash DC for 2 years.

I noticed he's using it a lot too. It's funny because during that 1st AFRO show, they said they didn't feel they'd need to swear a lot, and we were all saying Ron and Fez were guys who didn't need to swear to to be funny.

I don't think he's using it as a crutch or anything, but I do think he's cursing a lot, and it's noticable. Should he stop? No.

I dont have a problem with it personally. it's on a channel clearly marked XL. so, if someone doesn't like it XM does have channel blocking so that channel can easily be blocked. I'm sure Ron finds it refreshing that he doesnt have to hold back anymore and that he be himself without the hassle of the fcc. I say, so what if he wants to say the f word 50 times that's his perrogative. I say amen to satellitte radio and the ability to say whatever the hell he wants to say. it's a great forum and I applaud it. more power to RON.

You humps sound like my parents. They would drive their car into a tree if they heard Ron say fuck but would sit there and be totally oblivious to Lil' Jimmy making Yates, Peterson, Miscarriage jokes.

Don't you know that in communication only 7% of the message that is conveyed is the actual word itself. The rest of the meaning that is conveyed in a message is tone, inflection, body language, the timing of it all.

Stop being middle american bores and thinking that saying fuck is any sort of a big deal.

It is the same idea that you can say crap all day long on the radio but you can't say shit. They mean exactly the same thing but one day someone came up with the idea that shit is worse then crap.

Stop being sheep. Teach your daughter that NO word by itself is ever 'bad.' It is the context in which you use it.

If somone told me that they hated me, that would be much more offensive then someone telling me to fuck myself.

I don't think anyone said Ron should stop. It's just weird that all of a sudden he's dropping Fuck like it's going out of style. Just 0 to 60 in a week. But no one ever said STOP RONNIE! WE're get used to it and he'll probably ease into using it more regularly.

As for the DJ on a station doing it, I haven't listened to one of the music stations in weeks, but I hated ANY DJ on ANY station. I DON'T WANT FUCKING ASSHOLE DJS ON SATELLITE RADIO. Go away. Play commercial free music, period.

I love the way Ron is talking on XM. I always expected with
his stand up backround that he cursed a lot normally. On the
WJFK/WNEW shows he said "f'n" a lot too, now he doesn't need to censor
himself.

I know plenty of people who say "fuck" that much, so if
thats how Ron speaks outside of radio wouldn't it be STUPID to not do
it on XM?

Ron may drop the F-Bomb but you cant blame him; many people, the Government and Military were adamant about developing a working F-Bomb before another country did, and spent many billions of dollars and man-hours to work the theory into reality; to build and test the first ones, when the F-Bomb was so Top Secret the President was not aware of its existance. It would be a waste not to use them.

I see everyone's point that 202 isn't a channel to leave on with kids, no matter what show is on.

BUT, I do see his point that why should he have to have some dickneck DJ throwing curses out between songs? It's hard to pick out swears in songs sometimes, you can get away with it.

On my way out to Kansas on good ol' Air ("We Are Not Valujet") Tran, the flight from DC to Hotlanta had XM. I was so excited at first, because it was noon and I thought I'd be able to hear most of the show from the heavens - but noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

The XL channels were not available on Air Tran - rrrrrr!

The music options were nice, though, but still - to be teased like that, only to have it pulled away. It was like my entire 11th grade played over for me again.
