<p>Can anyone in the D.C. area recommend or even know of these style restaurants. I am going to be in the D.C. region in about 2 weeks for a long weekend any help would be great</p><p>for those who dont know what churrascaria is</p><p>from wiki</p><p>A <strong>Churrascaria</strong> (shoo-HOSS-ka-REE-ah) is a <a title="Brazil" href="http://www.ronfez.net/wiki/Brazil">Brazilian</a> <a title="Steakhouse" href="http://www.ronfez.net/wiki/Steakhouse">steakhouse</a>. <a title="Churrasco" href="http://www.ronfez.net/wiki/Churrasco">Churrasco</a> is the cooking style, which translates <em>roughly</em> from the <a title="Spanish language" href="http://www.ronfez.net/wiki/Spanish_language">Spanish</a> for 'barbecue'. However, it in order to avoid confusion, it is important to state that in the rest the of <a title="South America" href="http://www.ronfez.net/wiki/South_America">South America</a>, the 'barbecue' method of cooking meat is known as <a title="Asado" href="http://www.ronfez.net/wiki/Asado">Asado</a>.</p><p>Distinctly a <a title="South American" href="http://www.ronfez.net/wiki/South_American">South American</a> style <a title="Rotisserie" href="http://www.ronfez.net/wiki/Rotisserie">rotisserie</a>, it owes its origins to the fireside roasts of the <a title="Gaucho" href="http://www.ronfez.net/wiki/Gaucho">ga£chos</a> of southern Brazil (from the <a title="Pampa" href="http://www.ronfez.net/wiki/Pampa">Pampa</a> region), centuries ago. In modern restaurants, <a title="Rodizio" href="http://www.ronfez.net/wiki/Rodizio">Rodizio</a> service is typically offered. Servers come to your table with knives and a skewer, on which are speared various kinds of meat, be it <a title="Beef" href="http://www.ronfez.net/wiki/Beef">beef</a>, <a title="Pork" href="http://www.ronfez.net/wiki/Pork">pork</a>, <a title="Filet mignon" href="http://www.ronfez.net/wiki/Filet_mignon">filet mignon</a>, <a title="Goat" href="http://www.ronfez.net/wiki/Goat">goat</a>, <a title="Chicken" href="http://www.ronfez.net/wiki/Chicken">chicken</a>, <a title="Duck" href="http://www.ronfez.net/wiki/Duck">duck</a>, <a title="Ham" href="http://www.ronfez.net/wiki/Ham">ham</a> and <a title="Pineapple" href="http://www.ronfez.net/wiki/Pineapple">pineapple</a>, <a title="Sausage" href="http://www.ronfez.net/wiki/Sausage">sausage</a>, <a title="Fish" href="http://www.ronfez.net/wiki/Fish">fish</a>, or any other sort of local cut of meat.</p><p>In most parts of Brazil, the Churrasco is roasted with <a title="Charcoal" href="http://www.ronfez.net/wiki/Charcoal">Charcoal</a>. In the South Region of Brazil, however, mostly close to the borders of <a title="Argentina" href="http://www.ronfez.net/wiki/Argentina">Argentina</a> and <a title="Uruguay" href="http://www.ronfez.net/wiki/Uruguay">Uruguay</a>, embers of wood are also used</p><p>I went to one called Texas de Brazil and it fucking rocked</p>

<p>Don't want to de-rail your thread, but I'm with MDR!</p><p>Brazilia on Ferry St. in Newark is probably the finest churacaria in America. There are about a dozen places on Ferry St where you can get authentic BBQ! And the Portugese market around the corner, OUTSTANDING!!</p>

the fries are only good when they're hot. After that, you might as well
chuck em. I bought 3 trays to the softball game that just past.<p> </p>

There is a pretty good one in Rockville,MD Churrascaria Grill. Alot of BEEF!
I say sweeping the pockets of the Dutchman was not Mob business!
<p>I love these places. First time I ever tried one was when I visited a buddy of mine in Dallas.</p><p>Here's the one in Rockville, MD:</p><p><strong><font size="4">Green Field Churrascaria<br /></font></strong>(301) 881-6476<br /><font size="-1">1801 Rockville Pike</font><br /><font size="-1">Rockville, MD 20852</font><br /></p><p>And I know that there's one on Columbia Pike in Arlington, VA (not too far from the Pentagon) but I can't remember the damn name.</p>

There's a Greenfields in Hackensack or somewhere there (the plaza with
the teacher's store). It started out as a churrascaria style restaurant
but when I went there recently they also served sushi as well. <br />

one is rated the best from what i see. Stickin to the NY derail of
course, its on W 49th between 8th and 9th. Little pricey but seems
worth it. I'm probably gonna try to check this place out. </p><a href="http://www.churrascariaplataforma.com/" target="_self"></a>

<p>This was about the ONLY good thing I heard on that crap show "Big Mo & Douche". Their description of this dining experience had me drooling. Unfortunately, I don't know the name of the place they went to, but it was in the DC/Northern Virginia area.</p><p>If Mo & Douche weren't such loosers, you could contact them to find out where the place is.</p>
