Moe had this thread about his computer screen going dark in places and in the thread, someone suggested he hit F8, and out of curiosity I hit either Ctrl F8 or Alt F8 and now my all the text I see is dimmed out and small and I cannot figure out how to undo it!  I have turned the computer off and on several times and it has not had any effect!  Anyone know how I can undo this??? Its making me crazy!!  HELP!!

By the way, this effect is just on web pages I am seeing, I do not see it in other areas like in Word or email.  While I am typing this, the text looks normal in the text box, but all text outside the text box is dimmed and smaller!  Please try and give me some ideas asap!  What about system restore? I have Windows XP Professional

I've been trying to figure out what he did to get this to happen, I can't even replicate the same thing on my computer. Which leads me to believe that there is some somewhere installed or some odd setting that was on prior to this, that is ultimately causing this. Very odd. I can't even find anything in Google searches about this.

If its just his webpages could it be that it adjusted the Text Size under View on the toolbar ?

go into a browser window. Hold control and scroll the mouse wheel, it changes text size

Yeah, you must have changed a setting somehow (some kind of shortcut key thing) There is no "self destruct button" for your PC.

Its like a fog has been lifted!  I feel like Nicholas Cage though for not figuring it out!  I baffled 3 IT guys at work with the idea and none of them figured it out either.

I consider myself to be fairly computer savy but I didnt think your problem would've stumped 3 IT guys.Sounds like your company needs to outsource.
