My dad used to buy the most awesome horseradish-- you could feel the cracks in your skull after sampling that horesradish.

I wish I could try it again.

I use mine with ketchup for a cocktail sauce with shrimp. I also mix it with mayonnaise for shrimp and roast beef.

ALL HAIL HORSERADISH!!

Horseradish is more forgotten. Eastern European serfs made horseradish what it is today.

funny you mention it tonight Alice, i used some tonight to make the cocktail sauce... can't say i ever used it for anything else but i like the sound of your mayo/combo idea and will have to try it... i believe they use it in the Peter Luger steak sauce, i tried it but it was a little sweet. i prefer the au jus concentrate

Kraft sells a horseradish and mayo combo. I prefer my horseradish either with ketchup or alone.

Horseradish is a very good condiment. It needs to be used in moderation unless you want to tear up.

I'd love to try it full strength like you're talking about though Fuzzybutt. Just once.

At the sandwich shop I work at, we have a sandwich that is just
loaded with horseradish (also has brown mustard, cole slaw, Muenster,
and turkey on it). There's a guy who comes in regularly and
insists we put on so much horseradish that it makes our eyes leak.

I'm more of a horsey sauce person myself... spread that stuff on some nice hot ham and I can die happy.
