Eric Logan was on O&A to announce this this morning... he said
the only 2 non talk channels would be 175 home plate and 202... so i
would assume that includes R&F... from the AP... (i'm still looking for the PR) 
 
DirecTV, XM Satellite sign program deal 
 
(AP) SEP. 29 8:52 A.M. ET  DirecTV Group Inc., the nation's
largest direct broadcast satellite provider, said Thursday it will
start offering music and talk-radio channels to its customers under a
deal with XM Satellite Radio Holdings Inc. 
 
DirecTV, which has more than 14 million customers nationwide, said it
will begin offering 72 radio channels from XM Satellite in
mid-November. The deal nearly doubles DirecTV's current audio
programming lineup without an additional fee for customers, it said. 
 
The new offerings will include music channels, children's programming,
XM's Major League Baseball "Home Plate" talk radio channel and other
talk radio shows.

Customers subscribing to the DIRECTV TOTAL CHOICE(R) programming package 

will have access to 50 XM Satellite Radio music channels and customers 

subscribing to the DIRECTV TOTAL CHOICE(R) Plus programming package and above 

will have access to more than 65 channels. DIRECTV PARA TODOS(R) customers 

will also have access to the same XM channels, as well as five additional 

Latin music channels.

O&A mentioned that there are cams already in studio... maybe they
can turn them on and broadcast them on Direct TV... hat would rock
being able to watch the show live...

This announcement has now been transmitted to all DirecTv
customers through DirecTv's message feature.  In order to get High
Voltage, you need to subscribe to DirecTv at the Total Choice Plus

So are they going to have a live feed from the studio or just the audio.  I know Ronnie was never real keen on having cameras in the studio.  I know currently I can not tivo any of the music choice channels. If someone knows how to do it please let me know.  The boys going to Directtv is fantastic.

I was on Jetblue last week and they were announcing that XM would soon be available. Does anyone know if this includes 202?

Looks like all the 800 channels will be taken over by XM, and the
number of channels you recieve will be determined by your total choice
package. This means goodbye to Music Choice for the millions of fans of
that service. I think someone already said here that 879 will be High
Voltage.

it kind of sucks that the number of channels you get is determined by your total choice package.  i already pay for the XM service, why make me pay another 20 or 30 dollars to get the XM channel I would want on DirecTV.  I guess its good for those who don't own XM.  i'll just stick with my current DirecTV package and listen online or through my boombox.

It's great for XM, but I don't know anyone who listens to the music channels on their TV except when someone has a party (TV would be part of a Home Theater, so turn off the TV, turn up the reciever and you have commercial free music)I wonder if it will be easy to record the O&A and R&F shows from my DirecTV and get it on my iPod.

The only thing I think that would make this worth it is if High
Voltage was put on with video as well as audio.  That's the only
way I'd think people would be willing to pay for it as, yet again, a
premium channel! 202 gets off premium on radio, so now, of course, it's premium on tv!

As far as I can tell, tivo will not record the audio channels. I have a DirecTV receiver w/Tivo built in. It won't record any of the 800's ( audio channels ). You probably need another type of recorder.

Geez that hurt my eyes wonderwoman. Do whatever you want, I have basic cable and pay for xm radio, work too much to sit and watch tv besides movie rentals. Even though I'll never see/hear it, its a good thing.

There is only a $4.00 difference between the "Total Choice" and "Total Choice Plus" packages on DirecTV.  Music Choice has some additional music channels available to "Total Choice Plus" subscribers that are not available to "Total Choice" subscribers.  All in all, this is a fantastic move for XM.  Now I can have 202 on in any room that has a TV without having to bring my Roady 2 in and hook it up.

Anyone else's XM on Direct Tv all of a sudden not work? It is still labelled as XM 202 but there's no sound what so ever.
