View Full Version : Should I be pissed at my friend?

A friend of mine is a diehard Yankee fan. He's also a Dolphins fan.

Friday afternoon, I was offered a pair of Jets/Dolphins tickets, face value, 140 bucks for both.

I called my friend, asked him if he wanted to go - he said yes, so I bought the tickets.

I called him last night to confirm he wanted to go - he said yes.

I get a phone call at 9:45 this morning - since the Yankees won last night, there's a problem - the Yankees game is on against the Jets game, so he doesn't want to go.

He offered to pay 70 bucks for his ticket if I couldn't find anyone to go.

Of course, because it was so late, I couldn't find anyone to go with me. Most of my friends are Giants fans and/or have other plans.

I'm pissed because I'm out 70 bucks and I don't want to scalp the tickets because they are season tickets, it's not my license, and I don't want to scalp them because I don't want some idiot f-ing up my ticket connection's season ticket license.

What do you guys think?

(apologies if this belongs in the Horde King forum)

Your friend told you he'd go. You called to confirm. It's certainly improper for him to change his mind at the last minute.

Instead of staying mad at him (and perhaps ruining the friendship) try talking and telling him that you are pissed and the reason for it.

It happens dude. You have every right to feel anyway you want to feel. Just don't be mad for too long...it's not THAT big a deal. Maybe he can cover half the costs?

I'd be pissed at him! Just do what I do. Go cause about $70 worth of damage to his personal property.

But seriously, you should talk to him. I've been ignoring my friend I'm pissed at for like a week now, but I know I'm gonna have to confront him eventually. So get it over with now. The sooner you work through it, the sooner you can go back to just being friends again.

Wait? what's the reason for
being pissed? You said he'd
pay the 70 bucks if you
couldn't find anyone to go
with you. What happened to
that? Did he just not pay or
did you tell him not to?

I'd knock his teeth out, but then that's pretty much my solution to everything.
