<p>So I'm leaving an office that i was doing work at today in Toms River NJ(where i don't usually work) and these 2 women stop me one was about 23 ther other had to be late 40's and they start laying on how they have to pick up girls from day care and the bus is gonna be another hour and how it's only in seaside....and now i don't usually do this but for some reason i gave them a ride, with almost no hesitation...and nothing bad happened dropped them off where they needed to go i didn't get robbed or killed or anything...and so i was wondering have you guys ever picked up stangers or hitchhiker? or what would the circumstances have to be for you to give a stranger a ride? </p><p>but after that the only thing that popped into my mind was...</p><p><img src="http://college.library.wisc.edu/collections/gaus/graphics/streetcar.jpg" border="0" /></p><p>&quot;you can always depend on the kindness of strangers...&quot;</p>

<p>i was at the nursing home visiting my aunt and this man who was there entertaining the residents with his accordion caught me in the parking lot and asked for a ride to a hall a few miles away... felt harmless enough and didn't have any problems...</p><p>can't remember ever picking anybody else up....</p>

I happened upon an old guy on the GS parkway who was having car trouble on his way to the doctor's office.&nbsp; He had pulled off the road at the Kenilworth exit because he thought the car was on fire.&nbsp; By the time I had completed an unsuccessful&nbsp;cold&nbsp;call at the Kenilworth Inn, his Honda had burned to the ground and he had made it to the parking lot, and was wondering what to do next.&nbsp; I couldn't take him to his destination but, being a lazy salesman I made the time to take him back home to Oakland, or thereabouts.&nbsp; A month later&nbsp;I got a $25 gift certificate to Omaha Steaks, a nice note, and copies of the insurance adjusters pictures of the burned out car in the mail.&nbsp; Nice!!

<p>There's this older lawyer on the same floor as my current
company.&nbsp; Monday afternoon, I walked to the elevator with a
coworker and he was waiting there.&nbsp; He starts asking us about
buses to Rockland County from Westchester, and I mentioned I'm from
Rockland.&nbsp; This inspires him to ask me for a ride.&nbsp; </p><p>Now
we literally make fun of this guy daily in our office.&nbsp; There are
cartoons of him on the company white board.&nbsp; The last thing I want
is this guy in my car, so I tell him&nbsp; I'm not heading home.</p><p>For
two days now, whenever one of my coworkers run into him in the hallway,
he does nothing but complain about me.&nbsp; And then we go back to
making fun of him.&nbsp; :)&nbsp;</p>

<p>I was on metro north going home from a night out in the city and this girl in her early 20's realized she got on the wrong line. It was the last train, so she was kinda screwed. She mentioned her boyfriend lived in Ardsley, which wasn't far at all from where I lived at the time, so I offered to take her there, and she was extremely grateful.</p>
