<p>Does anyone know how they might rerun them during the summer? A show like this really needs to be played in order. Did they do Season 1 in order last summer? I don't want to wait until the Season 2 DVD's come out. I need to catch up. I missed the first 10 episodes too and I need my fix. </p>

<img border="0" src="http://home.comcast.net/%7Ebob80/RFnetXMRonFez.jpg" />I
have every show up to Season 2 episode 9 (I'll have 10 and 11 some time
this weekend) zipped up in one nice file. Instant message me at
"MSteels" (AIM or AOL) and I will file transfer all the shows over to
you. Problem solved. This offer goes to anyone that is
stuck missing episodes of season 2.<p> </p><p>Also, the quality is beautiful, I'd say a notch below DVD.<br />

<p>Without going into depth I'd like to express that my suspicions about "Lost" were pretty much clarified after tonight's episode.</p><p> </p><p>Lost
has turned into "The Sopranos" on a storyline aspect. I hope I'm
wrong but I believe that this is what the show is turning into.
Tonight after speaking to friends of both shows that observation seemed
to be the consensus of everyone. Please let me be wrong on this
but I fear I'm on the button. </p>

This is what I SUSPECT will happen. </p><p> </p><p>You asked for an example and I do not have one in particular but I'll explain. What I was trying to convey was that I fear these storylines will end up being open ended without conclusion much so like the "The Sopranos". I understand that is the nature of the show but this is too much. Next to nothing is answered while several more questions arise with every new episode. </p><p> </p><p>I hope I'm wrong but I feel like the writers may be the ones who are Lost. </p><p>I was kinda set off by the lackluster confrontation tonight. For a moment I was THRILLED and like a sucker I thought to myself I was getting some answers. Just a few, keep it real. I was wrong and I'm dissapointed along with the few friends I spoke with tonight who share the same sentiments. </p><p>Several HUGE storylines going on and the show wastes all that time on Jack's most recent back story. I LOVE the back story element of "Lost" but give me a break. </p><p>I guess "Filler" isn't just a radio term.</p><p> </p><p> </p>

<p>filler? did u not see the correlation between the hot italian chick and Kate? </p><p>and ok..the confrontation was indeed lack luster, but...was it proof that Jack was right and there's not as many as we think? Those torches werent hand held.....were they? </p><p>My question is if youre gonna build an army..wouldnt ya go to the Iraqi soldier and not the ex-lapd cop? </p><p>but mike, youve gotta come up with an example if youre gonna try to make me even slightly mistrust these writers. Sopranos, ok. Theyve let us down repeatedly, but Lost? I'm on the edge of my seat every week. And ya gotta stay awake for the tie ins!!!</p>

<p>I think they leave some of the stories unanswered and then go back to them later.</p><p>It becomes too predictable if you do them in order.</p><p>2 things I git from last night and let me know if you agree :</p><p>The Italian chick - wasnt she in some way tied to Desmond ? I seem to recall him showing a picture or Jack seeing a picture of her at some point.</p><p>The " Other " that brought Kate out of the woods was named Alex. Wasnt that the name of the French lady's kid ?</p>

<p>Chris the Cop is right. You have to see the "tie-in" with the episode and the flashback.</p><p>Turning into Sopranos' storylines? Harldy. The Sopranos have all of Northern New Jersey and NYC to spread their storylines - where some will get lost - just like real life. </p><p>Lost is on an island. But those who tune in week after week to find answers will find nothing but disappointment. It's a TV show - and this one will have a limited run. 3 <em>maybe </em>4 seasons in it. All, or at least most, will not be answered until the last shows of its run. So don't go looking for them anytime soon - just enjoy the ride.</p>

<p>I agree that show never pays off. I actually stopped watching for 2 or 3 weeks because it's just so damn frustrating but...my wife watches it religiously. Next thing ya know...I'm right back in it.</p><p>There is ZERO continuity from week to week. I'm STILL waiting for someone to address any and all of the mysteries from the 1st season. Hell..they haven't even ADDRESSED exactly why Locke can suddenly walk. And for that matter...why in the hell isn't he saying -out loud- "hey everybody...I can walk now! What's going on?!"</p><p>What ever became of the (Irish? Scottish?) dude who was in the bunker when they finally blew open the hatch? <p>Remember how you felt at the end of the 1st Lord of The Rings movie?</p><p>You said..wait...wtf? Theres so much still to be told..why are they ending it now (even after 3 hours)??!!</p><p>But what did the writers do? They made you come back for part 2...and part 3.....what else did they do? They wrapped up their little story nicely, and you were happy you hung on to see it. </p><p>It's like that, but its free. AND you dont have to wait a year til the next episode!</p><p>This is a great show, ESPECIALLY for network tv. Enjoy.</p><p>As for why doesnt Locke scream to everyone that he can walk? Same reason the fat guy doesnt tell everyone he's rich. Peopel will treat him differently. OR maybe he's afraid if he says it, itll go away. And the fact that Walt's a very special boy was JUST mentioned again this week...I'm sure theyre not gonna Soprano out on us and not tell us why he's so special, or why baby Aaron is so special. Or where the guy ran off to in the woods. </p><p>This show is NOT the Sopranos. Itll pay off. It wont forget ya. Enjoy.</p>

Well that's certainly the most comprehensive theory i've heard yet. I have to agree with you thought, i'm not too crazy about it. I'm still hoping it's a spiritual story and they're all actually already dead and sorting out things before they go on to their respective afterlives.

"but mike, youve gotta come up with an example if youre gonna try to make me even slightly mistrust these writers. Sopranos, ok. Theyve let us down repeatedly, but Lost? I'm on the edge of my seat every week. And ya gotta stay awake for the tie ins!!!"
Chris, I explained that I had no concrete examples because there still is time for me to be wrong (this is what I'm hoping for). Remember what I posted originally (below).
"You asked for an example and I do not have one in particular but I'll explain. What I was trying to convey was that I fear these storylines will end up being open ended without conclusion much so like the "The Sopranos". I understand that is the nature of the show but this is too much. Next to nothing is answered while several more questions arise with every new episode."
I FEAR and SUSPECT that SOME of these storylines will either be conveniently forgotten about or wrapped up with less than proper conclusions. It is too early to find any validity into these suspicions but I think I have grounds to fairly make them.
Lost is my favorite show EVER, it is brilliant. I am merely nervous and don't want to see this follow the same path as The Sopranos.
Remember one thing people. This early into the Sopranos (mid way through 2nd season) run we all thought that EVENTUALLY we'd get some answers to storylines that either never came or were discarded by inadequate answers (or excuses to just move on).

I remember seeing promos for this show last and thinking cool non-reality TV. This would be the first show in years that i would make a point of checking out and reading all the buzz, I seem to recall AICN giving it a big push before it aired. Anyway my point is I seem to recall reading somewhere that Terry O quinn (Locke)was only supposed to be on the show for a short while according to what I read. Anyone else recall this or am I just way off base here?

Maybe he will be the savior in the end...not likely...but anyways my real question is doesn't anyone else think we shouldn't worry about questions being unanswered considering they came back to the plane full of drug running priests all the way in the middle of the 2nd season with the Eko episode? <p>My feeling on some of this is as follows:</p><p>1. They are experiencing something similar to the Philidelphia Experiment where they may not be on the "usual" plane of existence. Somehow the powerful magnetic field has caused this.</p><p>2. Or they have been cyrogenically frozen during periods on the island. For instance Libby talking about how the washer and dryer just looked so much newer then the other stuff. (yeah this one is a stretch)</p><p>I definetly thing something to do with the EMF near the hatch has done somethings.</p><p>And the Locke thing in the statues could be some shadowing of his coming evil turn. Sort of like Locke turning his back on religion and locking it away from ever getting out?</p><p>Who knows i am pretty stupid</p>

<p>Hey everyone I have a request I'm hoping one of you can help me with. I
can't find episodes 11 or 12 on the net. Well I can but they are like
half done and it's been almost two weeks now with 11. I would just pay
the 4 bucks at itunes but that is no good to me because I can't burn
them onto DVD's so everyone can watch on their televisions opposed to
the computer. I'm looking for someone to file transfer either or both
episodes over to me via the file transferring system. My contact
information is MSteels@aol.com. Thanks!</p><p> </p><p>

I received your E-mails fine but it seems you don't get mine.
Yes, it worked and I wrote to you how much I appreciated your time and effort. I just had a few questions if you don't mind that I'd like to continue more privately.
Off the subject the show is starting to go downhill (last 4 episodes) in my opinion (with exception of the Eko back-story). However, I am in for the duration of at least this season because after the first 32 episodes (Season 1 and beginning of Season 2) I felt it was easily the greatest and most entertaining show I had EVER come across in my life. I really want to be wrong but even all the people (about 10 now in my everyday life) that have become hooked on the DVD's I made all seem to agree the show started to seriously slip about 4 episodes ago. All of these people felt the same way I did in that the first 32 episodes were just fantastically compelling.
The bad thing about message boards is that the subject (Lost for example) discussed is usually frequented by big fans of the show or they wouldn't bother. This is a big problem with me cause on a variety of message board "subjects" I have found people loyal to a point of complete blindness and/or denial. I shouldn't care but I guess I never liked when people just pretended everything was OK when it obviously wasn't. ESPECIALLY when a product was formerly great. What I'm trying to say is that if (I HOPE NOT!!!!!) this trend continues and Lost just starts to go haywire with the dropped story lines and the overall bland content I can see people defending the show no matter how bad it will get. I hope that doesn't happen.
What brought us all to be such huge fans wasn't the rubbish of the last 4 episodes it was the brilliance of that first 31.
Here's hoping they turn this around pronto. Maybe we'll just look back and say this was just a short run of bad episodes.
I just can't shake the feeling that this great show may have lost much steam so early in its run.
"Twin Peaks" was literally a phenomenon in 1990. It was one of the biggest and most intriguing shows to hit television ever. It was BIGGER than "Lost" is today and halfway through it's second season the writing became terribly bizarre and the story lines were so "out there" and "over the top" that by that second season's end "Twin Peaks" was canceled.
Will this happen to Lost? No, I'm not saying that but I though they had enough similarities to warrant a mention.
One second a nation was in love with this show and it seemed like the next moment it was a joke due to the writing and story lines. Ironically it was the brilliant writing and story lines that was its claim to super stardom in the first place!

<p>I'll try eMailing you again...</p><p><font color="#000066" size="2">I know what you mean, The first few shows of this season are really just the continuation of the end of last season (Exodus 1 and 2) and then the introduction of the Tailies was good because it was something new. The last few shows since the Tailies made it to the main cabin's camp(s) haven't been very good (The 23rd Psalm was great, but that was because of Mr. Eko as you mentioned)</font></p><p><font color="#000066" size="2">I'm sure this is because they only have so much of the "Mythology" left and they have to pace themselves since the show's a hit, they weren't thinking like that during the 1st part of the 1st season. They show is better when you mix Character delevopment with the crazy shit that goes on on the island.</font></p><p><font color="#000066" size="2">I'm pretty sure the show will pick up again soon, they are starting a division between the people of Flight 815: "Jack's Army" vs "Locke's Button pushers" </font></p><p><font color="#000066" size="2">I'm hoping there is stuff in these past 4-5 episodes that will mean more than we thought when we first saw them once other things come to light.</font></p>

<p>I always hear people complaining about their TiVOs cutting off shows. Is it even worth it to get one? My VCR never cuts off shows. Record 10 minutes before the show until 10 minutes after.</p><p>The US Commander (played by the great Clancy Brown) told spoke to him, in Iraqi, that sometimes you will have to do what you have to do and that he'll do things he never thought he could. Something along those lines. Then he gave him about $1000 in US money.</p><p>Then he sides up with Charlie. He reminds Charlie that he was left hanging in the jungle to die by The Others, and that Jack has forgotten.</p>

<p>Getting a TiVo IS totally worth it.</p><p>It very rarely cuts off a recording. I've had mine for a year or so and it's only happened, like, 3 times. Two of those times have been the tail end of LOST (no pun intended).</p><p>In fact...the other day...we had a black out here in my building. Only lasted 10 secs. My TiVo powered back up...rebooted...and went right back to recording the two shows it was recording before the blackout. Kick Ass.</p><p> </p><p>PS: Thanks for the recap!</p>

But if a show has a tendency to start early/end late, you can adjust your season pass to compensate.</p><p> </p><p>And I was expecting some big revelation when the timer hit 0. <p>What is everyone's feelings on the ongoing Jack-Locke battle? </p><p>I personally like them both (Locke a little more), but lately Jack has been getting on my nerves with his "my way or the highway" attitude. Locke said it perfectly last night how Jack is all set to build an army and go to war, but he can't stomach what Sayid was doing. It's a part of war and sometimes needs to be done, but just because Jack doesn't condone it, then it can't be done because it wasn't his idea. Heaven forbid anyone has an idea besides Jack. </p><p>I liked it so much better when they were working together and even though they had different beliefs, they realized they needed each other. Now, Jack is all "I don't need anyone and we're doing it my way" all the time. Quite annoying to say the least. </p>

<p>I love that power struggle between Locke and Jack.</p><p>Every single time somebody on that island sees something strange or needs help or advice, the first thing they say is "GO GET JACK!" or "WHERE IS JACK?!" or something. Now, Jack is starting to accept that and own it. Jacks change in attitude seems very organic to me.</p><p>Locke started out with a purpose on the island. He was the hunter/gatherer AND the mysterious weirdo yoda. HE was the one searching out the monsters and the boars (food) and he was obsessed with opening the hatch. Now that everyone has kinda settled in on the beach.....they don't seem to need him quite as much. So now, he's kinda fighting to get it back. Being defiant and passive/aggressive. </p><p>I love that angle.</p>

<p>I love Lost's fans and I guess I also have to give props to DVRs and Tivos. You are pausing and pausing to catch everything.<br /></p><p> Last week's episode was killer and again it was about conning and misdirection. I loved sawyer, the con of all cons, getting bested by Jack. I felt sorry for Hurley, who's worse off than even a sidekick. And John Locke, oh boy. I wondered how he could have Katey Segal (who's looking many times hotter than in her "Married...With Chidren" days and even her "Futurama" days!) and before that fateful flight, he was pathetic, alone and crippled. He could have had a decent life, but then he wouldn't be on the island. I also think that the hooker he taked to before he went on the flight was named Helen as well. I guess he was so obsessed over losing helen that he found a hooker with the same name.<br /> </p><p> <br />And did anyone get a screencap of the plane that passed over the motel? I swear it said dharma. It could have even been the planes that dropped these Dharma balloons. There had to be some significance because two of the same planes passed over and two balloons were found on the island. This is going to be a great few episodes coming up. I just wonder if this mysterious new guy is a villain, will become a villain or will be faithful to the survivors- only to get killed.<br /></p>

And the motel was near the airport (which is why it was so low) the name of the Hotel was "Flight Lane Inn" or something like that. I don't think there was much significance to the planes in the Flashback (Other that it's the same fake airline as Flight 815) If the Food was dropped by Plane, I would imagine it was some kind of cargo plane (and must have been really high up since no one seemed to hear a plane) I guess if there is something about the Island that makes things go toward it (Flight 815, The Black Rock, The Real Henry Gale's Ballon) it would be easy to drop stuff on the island, you don't even have to aim!</font></p>

<p>The island is definitely part of some kind of Bermuda Triangle. All we have to know is why the island needs fresh meat to live there.</p><p> </p><p>And I was thinking that since they found the balloons, all that's left is to find a way to make the shit fly, right? There is the little issue of finding where the fuck Michael and Walt are, and what magical bad luck powers Walt may have. I also wonder if The Others are against anyone leaving the island and if they are agents for a bigger boss or if they're just GI Joes that got stuck there 20 years ago.</p><p> </p><p>Michelle Rodriguez rocks! <p>i have to agree with every thing said about last ep, hurley destroying the food was great and all for his 'self' or whatever...but hello?? you're on a fucking island with other people you cunt! yeah...but about the last two minutes, i argued with my brother, who now refuses to watch lost, convinced it's the insane asylum theory, and i realized he was totally right. so now i'm totally intrigued how they'll dig themselves out of this shit, with that chick being in there after making us think that the whole 'insane asylum thing' was a red herring. i mean, where the fuck do they go from here?</p><p>whatever, i'm sure they'll amaze us next week, or whenever they come back on the air.</p><p> </p><p>0h shit, i forgot, does anyone know how much more is left in this season? i was hopiong that this show would be as amazing as it was for only one more season (3 seasons total) and after that it would become rediculous (because abc would be trying to pump as much cash out of it as they could, which i've heard more than anything else the cast/crew has no intention of doing, and they sincerely only want this to be an artistic, historic, landmark project that everyone can walk away happy from)</p><p>so my question is, how much do they have left in this season, and how much do they have to wrap up before going on to the third and hopefully final season</p>

It's also 240 hours during the show's hiatus. It's easier for her to spend a week there then try to schedule the 30 days of community service (considering 8 hour days)<br />
I think she's also taken probation before and gotten in trouble for not being able to finish it. She's got a pretty nice record, actually, if I remember correctly.

I blame Hurley if Libby dies. He's been on the island for how long and he doesn't know how to get to makeout-beach? Also, if she dies, that means that the whole tease about how they know each other a few weeks back has nothing happening with it.
<br>
I just thought of it though, if she does die, that was great foreshadowing to have Hurley talk to Sayid about where to take his girlfriend.

Holy shit, what an ending! I knew this was all a setup by Michael because the Others probably promised him Walt if he could get "Henry" back, but I never expected that to go down the way it did. <br />
I was actually just thinking too, in the preview for next week, didn't they have Hurley saying to Michael "I'm glad you're okay." What the hell would prompt that response??

While Ana is definitely dead my guess is Libby is not, She was probably carrying something that slowed or stopped the bullets between the blankets she was holding, It seemed that she was holding them very oddly.

<p>Not that too much in this show has made logical sense, but it seems ludicrous to show Libby in the mental hospital with Hurley one week, then kill her off the next. She's not dead.</p>

The shock of getting shot sends her back into insanity, Hurley finally recognizes her, nobody believes her story.

I think Henry's point was that Goodwin or whomever thought Ana could reformed of her killing ways, and that she was still good inside, but her killing Goodwin sort of put that out of reach. The irony is that by repenting and finally controlling her insatiable rage, she ends up dying. That seems to be a theme with the show though, as soon as people get over the hump, they get wasted. Another is the old horror cliche of illicit sex = instakill. Apparently, girls getting it on enrages the Jason Voorhees-like island.

This sort of got lost in the shuffle last night, but I think it's Jack, but it's not a twin. If you listened in on his dad's conversation with that girl, he was asking to see someone in that house, and he was saying he had a right to see him. here is a theory: they are all dead, then the reason someone "dies" on the island right after they make peace with themselves is because the island is pergatory and making amends with their soul prepares them to go over to the "heaven." which also explains why they are healed of their alments that they suffered from while "alive". the others are either, people that havent made peace with their sins, or might not ever, so they created their own society.
i know it sounds lame, but at the sametime it sounds accurate.

The producers swear they're not all dead. And there are exceptions to that theory - like Boone and Shanshan. <br>
Another thing I was just thinking about is that it's pretty safe to say that Henry didn't put the numbers in and probably did "something" else to get the blast door map to show up, because he was trying to recruit Locke to become one of t he others.

<p>show thats show sharp </p><p>Say that three times fast.</p><p>For the "peace with their sins/moving on" angle to work, Libby would have to not be dead. All we know of her is that she was in a mental hospital and that she may or may not be a shrink. Her journey, in that regard, is far from over. Plus she's really fucking hot. I think she may have outpaced Evangeline Lilly as hottest chick on the show. I know that sounds, as a certain Mr. B would say, like crazy talk, but she really does scratch me in that hard to reach place, and by that I mean my taint. Anyways, it would make more sense for Hurley to have been the one who snuffed it, what with him hashing out his food addiction and what have you. And wouldn't Bernard and Rose have bought it a couple of episodes back?</p><p>The format that I watch the show in doesn't give me the preview, so at first I thought Michael also killed himself which really threw me for a loop, but then I realised that he only maimed himself to work the escaping Henry gimmick. I'm really digging that angle, to be honest. Him setting up the attack and leading them into a trap and the whole bit; I'm grooving to it. I just hope they don't kill off Mr. Eko. I can't see them actually showing the death of a character in the preview, but, one never knows I guess.</p><p>"My name is Meestah Eko." I'm into it in a big, big way, to coin a phrase.</p>

<p> </p><p>the new Lost Experience thing isnt exactly an online game-as evidenced by newspaper ads and television commercials-it's considered an alternate reality game, and i'm getting way sucked in. started by reading bad twin, now i'm on multiple message boards that are tracking all the updates and new clues that come along. the trickiest part, so far, has been distinguishing fake fan-made sites from the real ones associated with the game.</p><p>from wiki:</p><p> </p>An <strong>alternate reality game</strong> is a <a title="Multimedia" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multimedia">cross media</a> <a title="Game" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Game">game</a>
that deliberately blurs the line between the in-game and out-of-game
experiences, often being used as a marketing tool for a product or
service. While games may primarily be centered around online resources,
often events that happen inside plotline may be provided to the players
in almost any form, some of those used have been:
<p> </p><ul><li><a title="E-mail" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E-mail">e-mail</a></li><li>websites, both those obviously connected with the game and those
innocent looking - often where the bulk of the game lies, these sites
provide puzzles in many forms, e.g. <a title="Cryptography" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cryptography">cryptography</a></li><li>phone calls to a player's home, cell or work phone</li><li>land <a title="Mail" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mail">mail</a></li><li>newspaper articles or classifieds</li><li><a title="Chat" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chat">chat</a>/<a title="Instant messaging" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Instant_messaging">Instant messaging</a> and so on - the games have been known to initiate conversation</li><li><a title="Internet relay chat" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_relay_chat">IRC</a> channels</li><li>real world <a title="Cultural artifact" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cultural_artifact">artifacts</a> related to the game in play</li><li>real world <a title="Events" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Events">events</a> utilizing actors who interact with the players who attend</li></ul>
<p>These games always have a specific goal of not only involving the
player with the story and/or fictional characters but of connecting
them to each other. Many game puzzles can be solved only by the
collective and collaborative efforts of multiple players.</p>
<p>Alternate reality games are usually earmarked by a large
game-reality in the form of multiple websites, all of which take
themselves as being totally real. In fact, sometimes it is difficult to
tell if a website is fictional or not. These websites form the
foundation of the game's universe, and are usually the primary
storytelling vehicle, although the various media listed above will be
used as well, creating a situation where the game's alternate reality
and the real world collide.</p>
<p>Important to alternate reality games is the concept of "this is not
a game." To be most effective, these games don't advertise themselves
as such, and never really admit to being a game at all. The mystery of
what's going on and who is behind it all is a major factor, as is the
general thrill of discovery (one website leads to another, and another,
etc.) for the players.</p><p> </p> <p> </p>
<p> </p><p>edit: if there's enough people playing or following along it might warrant its own thread seperate from Lost show discussion. </p>

<font color="#000099" size="2">I wonder if the <a title="A.I." href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloudmakers" target="_blank">Cloudmakers</a> are going to solve this one too...</font>
There is already a separate thread just waiting for a young go-getter to perk it up, to put it in L'il Jimmy's words. <br>
According to the podcast, the season finale is going to be *really* shocking. The big revelation better not be that Kate is really working for the others. I expect that, but then something bigger.

Ana Lucia was going to be killed off, but killing off Libby does make it look like they reacted to the DUI.</font></p>

<p>what a blast this episode was. locke and eko are my favorite characters, so this was double-plus good for me. i really want to know what the hell that bright flash was at the end of next weeks promo, something bright enough for basically all the cast to turn and look.</p><p>oh, and my little theory about someone having a twin on the show?</p><p>radio psychic, radio psychic: that twin will be revealed next week. not 100% certain about this, but close enough </p>
I just think Michael's going to crack and 'fess up. It looked he could barely keep it together, especially when he was talking to Hurley. And how come nobody seems suspicious that the one word that Libby tried to get out was "Michael." I also wonder what will happen when they do find out about Michael. Maybe Hurley will sit on him.

I know, but I'm saying I thought it was sort of bogus that Jack jumped to that conclusion so quickly. Why would she focus on Michael? She barely knows him. She had spent more time with Ana Lucia and had seen her shot too.<br>
I couldn't tell if Hurley was more wise to why she might have been saying "Michael" or if he was just reacting to the fact that his girlfriend was in her death thralls.
