I have an aunt staying over and she prefers to watch movies with the closed captioning on...

I realized that they totally leave things out or reword things...

If more than one person is yelling at a time, they always put "indistinct yelling"...even if it is easy to decipher what is being said...

The worst is when music is playing and they put like three musical notes in brackets...

and sometimes with the music they would show the name of the song...

must really suck... damn

It does.

I'm not, but thanks to a "shitty virus that happens sometimes" (doctor's quote), I lost almost half my hearing in my left ear.

If you are to the left of me and talking in a normal voice, I won't hear you. You have to speak up.

You wouldn't believe all the fucking problems this causes.

In a crowded room... forget it... it sounds like a stuck a shell up to my ear - only there is no shell, but that ocean sound is there. i don't even want to talk to anyone because I'm tired of saying "What?!"

It sucks.

If I was deaf I would probably kill myself because I can't go without music.

I think it's pretty cool. At least my parents tell me so.
Both of them were born deaf, so I was fortunate enough to to learn and
be fluent in sign language. It also was awesome because I always
got away with sneaking out.
