I love this show. I think this guy has proved himself an excellent interviewer and better yet, his monologue is all about his personal experiences. I think he can rival Jay Leno easily. Anyone else a fan?

I gave him a shot, and while I haven't made it through an entire show (I haven't made it through an entire show of Letterman, Conan or Kimmel in years either), I really liked him and could see watching him on a regular basis if I was up that late. He is a good interviewer and the getting rid of an opening monologue is a good touch - two things I have always thought Conan was weakest at.

I'm the same way, Curtoid...I can't sit through any of these talk shows any more. It's usually the first half hour at the most and them I'm on to something else. Is the format dying?

I can only watch the opening, the 1st few minutes of "bits" if they even to them that night, and turn it off before the 1st guest. I know Letterman sometimes did a bit in between his 1st and 2nd guest, but who the hell wants to sit through some braindead celeb talking about nothing for 20 minutes?

But things may have changed, I haven't seen 2 minutes of ANYONE'S show for months now.

I only watched the show once because Paul Westerberg was on it.

I've gotten kind of bored with his crutch of mugging for the camera during the monologue, and so many of the guests that go on these shows I don't care about, so I can't expect him to. Like I said, tho, I think his prepared comedy pieces are terrific - funnier week in and week out than anything on SNL, Leno or Letterman.
[/quote]

I also respect conan but have a hard time watching his show because of the audience. It sounds like a bunch of 13 year olds screaming at the top of their lungs at everything he says. Unfortunately, Craig Ferguson's audience is this way on a lot of nights, and I don't know how much I can stand that. What happened to people just laughing and politely clapping?

I stand corrected.

The thing I saw on CNN said that Bono and Bob Geldof were being "considered'.

I saw that episode. A friend's band (Last Train Home) was scheduled to be on that episode but he kept her on the entire show and they got bumped.
