Okay, so being from the Bronx, I've never really needed to own a car. Public transportation all the way. And I never got interested in cars, so I basically know more about cold fusion than I do about automobiles. But the time is coming where I'm saving up for one. Can you guys help me out, tell me what I should be looking for, what features are important, and what's economical. I'm car retarded.

get something that run on peanut oil or something. gas is going up. the civic hybrid is the least gay hybrid i've seen. you get about 35 to 40 miles per gallon. the sticker is a bit pricey but you get it back during tax time (apparently its some sort of incentive the government is giving people) but if you want something cool my vote is for a mitsubishi lancer EVO. basically a race car.

the important options are obvious, DVD player with the 8 inch screen in
the front, chrome dubs, heated seats. maybe a new grill. you wanna be
economical, so pick up something thats not too big, like the regular
escalade instead of the xlt. you need to throw a few sets of subs in
the back, and maybe one of those tv screens that folds up from the back
floor. also you need 85% tints on all the windows, silvered at the
bottom if you want it to be how it should be

don't forget to throw in a couple turbos, so that every time you switch gears it makes that sound like you're opening a beer can. a can or 2 of NOS, spinners are so yesterday, now you gotta go with the black deep dish joins with the 6 inch chrome lip. and get those calipers painted to match your body. and don't go around advertising your shit, take all stickers/decals/emblems etc off that bitch.

I've been looking into getting a car recently and was trying to see if there was a hybrid solution that could be attractive and would save me gas money. Unforetunately, there isn't. Here's the problem with Hybrid cars:

The true hybrid cars, such as the Prius and the Insight, are ugly as shit and don't function like regular cars. They don't go as fast or perform as well and they don't have many of the features that come standard in most cars like power seats, heated seats, and air conditioning in some cases.

The hyrid alternatives, such as the Civic Hybrid or the Accord Hybrid, perform and look like their gas-guzzling equivalents, but just aren't worth the money. A fully loaded Accord, for example, has an MSRP of $25,800. It gets about 26 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway. Based on a gas price of $3 per gallon and and an average of 12,000 miles per year, it would cost approx. $1,385 a year for gas. A equally loaded Accord Hybrid, on the other hand, has an MSRP of $32,140 and it gets 29 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the highway. Using the same gas price and average miles per year, it would cost approx. $1,241 a year. This gives you a savings of just under $150 a year and $1,500 over a 10-year period for a car that costs on average $6,340 more than it's non-hybrid counterpart.

I'm all for conservation and I would love to save money of gas, but the options available today just aren't worth it.

I addition to what bone said, you also have to replace the battery
every three years. I think was in Consumer Reports I read that
ultimately your savings come to $87 by driving a hybrid.
