<p>I think it's a great premise for another HBO show and has a lot of potential, I just don't think it has to be wild, gory and outrageous just because it can. It seems they tried to shock too much instead of getting to know the characters a little more. </p><p>I liked it though and I'll keep watching. It kinda reminds of an adult version of Hercules or Xena, Instead of silly childish stories with a dumb 10 min fight scene, sick stories of incest and betrayal with very bloody 10 min fight scenes...&nbsp; </p>

I don't have a lot of faith in American TV viewers, as evident by the wild success of "reality TV" in the last 7 or 8 years... But for some reason I STILL have faith that they're not QUITE stupid enough to watch this show.

<p>Rome did suck, but it is 100 % better then most crap on TV. </p><p>I love certain reality TV&nbsp;and am not ashamed of it, but didn't&nbsp;most that&nbsp;nonsense start in Europe? I thought that&nbsp;ridiculous Big Brother was huge outside of the US.&nbsp;The American version is just another game show instead of being under the false pretense of some silly social experiment. &nbsp;</p>Never Rub Another Man's Rhubarb...

brutal. Lots of sexual content but lots of graphic violence.<br />

The rome specials on History Channel and Discovery are better.&nbsp;I&nbsp;love those channels. And I like Lifetime and Oxyg---I mean ESPN and Playboy.&nbsp;

<p>No one else seemed to care about this show,&nbsp;but&nbsp;I loved it. The last episode seemed a little anticlamactic. Ceaser's death should have been more dramatized. I'm looking forward to The DVD's. Unfortunately HBO may take years before doing a season 2. </p>

I can't stand this show. I've tried several times to get into it but there is nothing at all interesting to me about it. HBO has really dropped off in quality programming aside from Curb Your Enthusiasm, even though I'm not really feeling this season that much either. I can't wait for the Lucky Louie show with Louis CK and Jim Norton to start airing.

I really enjoyed this show. My main complaint is that they crammed a bunch of history in one season. Cesears conquests should have been season 1, then his fight for power season 2 , then his reign/assasination season 3, or something to that effect .&nbsp;
