I hate digital cable. It gets screwy every time it rains. If it were not for the fact that I needed a cable modem, I'd go back to regular cable.

Here at NJ Shore the DigiCable [Optimum Online here, at least] starts to crap out on the lower channels in bad weather, or when the Gremlins are about, whichever ya believe in. So if the Yanks are playing on YES [Ch. 70] it might be fine, but if on Channel 9 during a storm it's either a blank screen, or you get this acid-trip series of freeze-frames that really stink on ice. Channels 2-14 or whatever may be all fuzzy, but the upper channels, clear.

Weird, but managable.

and that isnt the way cable vision runs. Digital cable has no effect on
the cable line, just the box connected to the TV. I have optimum and
had a cable modem for about 3 years before we switched to digital
cable, they have absolutely nothing to do with each other.

also, we get plenty of bad weather here, and it never effects the cable or certain channels or anything.

All I know is that everytime it rains the channel guide doesn't work or has to re-load, which takes a long time and many channels get that pixelated freeze during their broadcasts. Never had that problem with regular cable.

its just the technology that sucks. the box you have descrambles the digital signal so the rain doesnt have anything to do with it. its still the coax cable wire feeding your house or apt. those acid trip freeze frames make me want to throw my remote through the screen. what really sucks is they dont even offer the old boxes in my area anymore. if you move, you get a shiny new digital box. i haven't watched porn/wrestling/ any type of fight on ppv because of this, because i refuse to pay just on principle.
