This is horrible They're saying it's Greece's worse plane crash ever. 121 lost, more than half on the plane were CHILDREN. Here's what I don't get... No one is really considering it could be terrorism, but they're saying the co-pilot was unconscious and the pilot was not in the cockpit! To me, that sounds like the cockpit was attacked. HOW ELSE DOES THAT HAPPEN?

*FULL STORY*

Sounds like the same thing that killed Payne Stewart. There are reports
that one of the passengers sent a text message that said they were
freezing.
Actually Angrymissy pretty much filled me in on my ignorance. If that's what happened, then that makes perfect sense. I didn't really know that. But Mojo, the chances of the co-pilot having a heart attack while the pilot goes to take a shit... seems a little less likely.

The chance of a plane crashing, PERIOD, is incredibly low, so when it does happen, it's usally under freak or unusual circumstances.

I'm gonna have to go with the cabin pressure theory over the shit/heart-attack combo theory.

You're missing the point. I agree with Missy...I was pointing out the multitude of things that COULD happen to knock a co-pilot out while the pilot is gone. An actual terrorist takeover is even less likely than those scenarios, so I was just busting your balls for being an adorable little alarmist.

ATHENS (Reuters) - Most of the bodies recovered from a Cypriot plane that crashed near Athens with 121 people on board were frozen solid, a Greek official said, suggesting the airliner was a flying tomb before it plunged to earth.

As accident investigators combed the crash site for clues, aviation experts were baffled at what appeared to have been a catastrophic failure of cabin pressure or oxygen supply in freezing temperatures at 35,000 feet -- nearly 10 km (6 miles) up, higher than Mount Everest.

A passenger on the doomed plane said in an SMS text to his cousin in Athens: "The pilot has turned blue. Cousin farewell, we're freezing."

"To announce that there must be no criticism of the president, or that we are to stand by the president right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public." [ Theodore Roosevelt ]
